Littlest Pet Shop Toys
Both myself and my daughter have to agree that these little animals and all the different furniture and scenes that go with them are very engaging for girls this age. I personally think they're very inexpensive as well. You can get more elaborate kits and then some smaller less expensive ones. Great choice.
Our Generation Dolls
These dolls are a win, win for both myself and my daughter as well. I love the price and she loves having an 18 inch doll that she can dress up in different outfits and carry along with her. We also have 2 American Girl dolls and I'm very pleased with how similar the Generation girls are to the American girls. These sure don't have the American Girl price though, I found it for $21.99 at Target. Another great choice for girls this age. Great choice for my pocketbook too!
Barbie Laptop
Here's a nice toy that keeps them occupied for awhile just like the regular computer will. It's priced at around $30.00 which I thought was reasonable because it has lots of different activities that you can do on it. Her older sisters that are 10 and 12 love to get their hands on it too, so there must be something attractive about it, right?
Polly Pocket Dolls
It's all about Polly at this age, right? Well, at least it is at my house! We have so many of these dolls with all the different scenes and furniture that go with it, and when I get them more, they are still excited to get it! Must be something to these Polly dolls huh? They do have really nice sets, either larger or smaller. That's what I like about this collection too, either you can get a bigger more expensive set, or a smaller less expensive one. You can get those smaller sets for around $5-6 dollars. I like having that choice. My daughter enjoys having a huge collection of these! We both like this gift for Christmas too.
So In Style Barbie
My nine year old is asking for this Barbie almost daily. It's all the rage right now. You can style this dolls hair with straighteners and water. They have younger sisters that go with them too. So I guess I'll be hunting this doll down this year. It does look like a nice Barbie set. I'm seeing these for around $20.00, sometimes a bit more.
Well, hopefully I've given you a nice start to your 2009 Christmas shopping spree for your 9 year old daughter. There's so much to choose from you really can't go wrong. This is still a pretty good age for avoiding disappointment so we have that working for us!
Happy holidays!
