Best Christmas Light Displays in Green Bay, Wisconsin

S H
Green Bay is a great town for a plethora of holiday lighting displays. Every year, thousands of people and their families travel around the city streets for the very best Christmas lights. If you just don't feel like driving all over town this year, you don't have to - instead, you can consider heading over to one of the paid lighting shows, or even tackle both. Either way, here is a list of a few favorite places that offer such beautiful displays.

Green Bay Botanical Garden - Garden of Lights

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from November 24 to December 17 (5 to 9 PM), the Green Bay Botanical Garden offers a splendid lit garden of over 200,000 Christmas lights in shapes of different flowers, insects and animals - from the very big to the very small. Inside the Visitor's Center will be a 14-foot-tall Christmas tree uniquely decorated with dried floral arrangements. Local musicians will be performing randomly throughout the month.

The price is just $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 5-12 (ages 4 and under are free), but an optional horse-drawn wagon ride is $7 for adults and $5 for children, 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

Grizzy's Holiday Light Tour

Regency Suites in Green Bay provides a double decker bus to sit on and relax, as they take you on a tour of the town through streets which house the absolute best-decorated homes and neighborhoods. You have the option to vote for the homes you like the best, and prizes will be awarded to the contestants. At the end of the tour, you will be brought back to a reception of coffee, hot cocoa and cookies.

An "adults-only" tour also takes place as the last tour of the evening on Fridays and Saturdays throughout December. To attend this one, you must be at least 21-years-old. The tour lasts about two and a half hours and includes two drink tickets on the bus and a drink ticket for The Pub at Regency Suites.

This event will last every day from December 1st to December 31st - Fridays at 5, 7 and 9 PM; Saturdays at 7 and 9 PM; and the rest of the week at 5 and 7 PM. Cost of the tour is $10 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and $20 for Adults Only tour tickets.

Holiday Fest at The NEW Zoo

The Northeastern Wisconsin Zoo holds this "Winter Wonderland" event every weekend in December from 4 to 8 PM. Light displays decorate just about everything around, and for an extra fee you can choose to take your family on the candlelit horse-drawn wagon ride through the Reforestation Camp (every evening except for the 29th and 30th).

The price of this event is the same as normal zoo admission - $4 for adults (16 years and older), $2 for children (ages 3-15), and $2 for seniors. Children 2 and under are free.

These are only the most popular lighting displays in Green Bay, that ensure a fun family time that is well-worth your time and money.
