The Town of Barre, Massachusetts boasts one of the most scenic and quintessential New England town commons in Massachusetts, and perhaps all of New England. Barre common is the first stop to make on your tour of fabulous Barre, Massachusetts Christmas light displays.

Through the generosity of the Barre Business Association and the hard work of many town volunteers, the Barre common is spectacularly decorated with thousands of white Christmas lights, decorations, and Christmas trees. The Bandstand on the common is the focal point of the town's Christmas light display, illuminating the Barre common with yesteryear charm.

The Christmas light display on the Barre town common will be illuminated on Saturday, November 25 when Santa Claus is ushered into town in a Santa Parade starting at Ruggles Lane Elementary School and finishing on the town common where Santa will flip the switch. This year's Santa Parade will have a 'Snowman' theme. Christmas revelers are encouraged to show their creativity and dress up in a Christmas costume or enter a float. Spirited pets are welcome to march with their owners, on a leash, in holiday style, too. Santa parade participants should begin assembling in the Ruggles Lane School parking lot at 3:15 on November 25; the parade steps off at 4:00 p.m. and will end on the common around 4:15. Information requests for the Barre town Santa Parade should be directed to (978) 355-3050.
