Best Christmas Stocking Stuffers for the Geek

B.J. Rychener
Since Christmas and the holiday season are fast approaching I have compiled a list of stocking stuffers that are sure to wow any of your favorite geeks. All of the gifts listed are

1. LED Binary Clock - One of my favorite geek gifts from last Christmas, it is small so it fits on any desk and even though I can read binary it is still a little challenging to read the current time.

2. C.H.I.M.P. Rearview Monitor Mirror - This is a perfect gift for any geek whose desk does not face the door. Not only will this keep coffee mugs from spilling and papers from scattering, it is a fun conversation piece.

3. USB Pen Drive - Every geek needs one of these! Ranging in size from 1Gb to almost 32Gb now, this compact storage device that fits in a geek's pocket will be certain to top their list this Christmas season.

4. Micro SD Card - No geek that I know of is complete with out his/her cell phone and/or mp3 player. Most of these devices come with a slot for a micro SD card that is perfect for storing photos, music, and contact information. Be sure to check with your geek to make sure their device is compatible with micro SC card before you invest in this gift so that they will be able to enjoy it Christmas morning.

5. USB Christmas Tree - Another favorite gift I have received is the USB Christmas Tree. It is powered by your desktop or laptop and provides a great way for your geek to show his/her Christmas spirit.

6. The Amazing Desktop Dinosaur Plant - For all those geeks who can't seem to get away from their desk long enough to care for a plant but still require some companionship this plant is perfect. It hibernates when it is dry but will return to full green state when it is again watered so it is the plant that can not be killed no matter how forgetful your favorite geek is.

7. Electronic Bubble Wrap Keychain - All geeks love bubble wrap! It is not only entertaining but it is something that most of them can not put down until all the bubbles are successfully popped, so imagine how much fun you could have watching them continue to try and pop these bubbles that keep coming back. And it is pocket sized and fits on a keychain.

8. Magnetic Desk Sculpture - Geeks love toys, get used to it. Thus something that sits on their desk that doesn't bother others and can be played with while contemplating the next step in their program is a great geek gift. These magnetic desk sculptures come in many different kinds so it should be easy to pick one that is close to the heart of your geek.

9. Newton's Cradle - Absolutely one of the best geek toys out there. Not only is it fun to play with but it also demonstrates one of Newton's greatest discoveries - that every action has an equal and opposite re-action.

10. The Red Swingline Stapler - Most of the geeks I know love the movie "Office Space" so how much more perfect can you get than this? It the perfect size for a Christmas stocking stuffer and the Red Swingline Stapler is something any geek would be proud to display on his/her desk.

I hope that this makes your Christmas shopping for your favorite geek a little easier!

I don't know any geeks, but if I did I would have a good idea of what to buy him/her!

    Great for the geek list.

Definitely a geek list! LED Binary Clock -- I really do not want to calculate the time every time I need it! I do not understand what use the C.H.I.M.P. Rearview Monitor Mirror would be. I want to get a pen drive someday but the 32 GB version is still too pricey. The USB Christmas tree I was hoping would be more of a regular Christmas tree and not one of those wavy things. The Amazing Desktop Dinosaur Plant is a good idea but it looks like something I cannot say online here! I showed my uncle the Electronic Bubble Wrap Keychain because he always pops the bubbles but he thought it is a dumb idea because he likes to pop them until the whole sheet of plastic is gone. I had a Newton's Cradle but my cat ate through the wires. A $22 stapler? And does the sale price?
