As a self-proclaimed coffee snob probably from years of drinking coffee, I made a conscious effort to find good coffee in L.A. Well let me tell you, my search was hard. Finding good coffee in L.A. is about as hard as finding a needle a haystack. Passing off over-roasted, low quality beans because it simply is "what's cool" or popular is not okay. After a long and arduous search, I found some pretty good coffee in L.A., and I will share my findings with you to spare you the long journey.

1. El Cochinito

El Cochinito is a small Cuban restaurant located in Silverlake. There is nothing fancy about it, in fact they La Llave out of the can. There is just something about it that makes it, in my opinion, the finest coffee in all of Los Angeles. Maybe it's their machine, the way it combines the grind and water. This is the only thing coffee related you will find there, but their food is pretty good and inexpensive.

2. Talking Stick

I like this place because they're drinks are simply amazing. They also have live entertainment daily as well as activities that appeal to the kids, like story time. They are located in Venice. For more information on location and live performances visit: http://www.thetalkingstick.net/

3. Novel Cafe

This cafe is good, because it is very well-rounded-, they have both good food and drinks, as well as good books to read during your stay. They have five locations throughout L.A. For more information, visit their website: www.novelcafe.com
