Best College Football Week 2 Games to Watch

Wordsleuth
This weekend is filled with a lot of college football games. Which ones are the ones worth the time to watch and which ones mean a lot to the teams and to the standings?

Nebraska at Wake Forest

Nebraska is looking to make some noise in the Big 12 North and Wake Forest is looking to build on last season's success. The two will meet on Saturday in a great match up of up and coming teams.

Miami (FL) at Oklahoma

Miami will be the first real test for Oklahoma. Oklahoma is out to try to prove that they are legitimate national title contenders and Miami is looking to prove that they are back to a high level with new coach Randy Shannon.

NC State at Boston College

This game does have some ACC implications, although NC State should prove no match for Boston College, but the real reason it is a game to watch is because it is former Eagles coach Tom O'Brien's first trip to Chestnut Hill as a visitor.

Oregon at Michigan

Michigan will be looking to put last week's embarrassing loss behind them by sticking it to Oregon. That is probably easier said than done since the Ducks bring an explosive offense with them to Michigan. This will be a big win for either team, but a even more devastating loss for Michigan if they don't pull it off.

South Carolina at Georgia

When Steve Spurrier was coaching Florida he never lost to Georgis but he has not beaten them since he took over at South Carolina. Earlier this year Spurrier said he had the talent to win the SEC and his team will have to prove it on Saturday against one of the powers in the Southeastern Conference.

Notre Dame at Penn State

This game may not be as hyped as it was before the Irish got trounced at home by Georgia Tech but this is still a big game to both teams. Penn State has the talent to win the Big Ten but they need to play well in big games. The Irish just need to get back on track and will try to do so with the first action for heralded freshman Jimmy Claussen.

BYU at UCLA

BYU is one of the popular picks to take Boise State's spot as a BCS Cinderella. To do this they will have to win a tough game against UCLA at home. BYU's methodical attack will have to beat UCLA's great defense. This should be a great game.

TCU at Texas

The other popular pick to take Boise State's spot as a BCS Cinderella is TCU. While the polls will forgive the Horned Frogs for a loss on the road at Texas, they still need to show they have what it takes and can't afford to get blown out. This game should be closer than most people think.

South Florida at Auburn

South Florida is a real up and coming team and they should give Auburn all they can handle. Grothe was one of the best freshman quarterbacks in the country last season and he has the poise to be able to beat the Auburn defense. This could be South Florida's entrance into the national scene or it could be a step back.

Virginia Tech at LSU

VT/LSU is the premier game of the weekend. Both come into the weekend ranked in the top 10 and both will be looking to forward their national title hopes. Tech didn't look so great last week and LSU looked fantastic on the road so this could be more than Virginia Tech can handle.
