Colorado State University

Upon transferring into this program you are expected to have general education requirements completed as well as a number of upper division coursework completed. The more credits you transfer in with, the less course work you may be required to complete. This program offers a flexible schedule for those who are currently working or who have other responsibilities. This degree can be completed entirely online and costs a low $265 per credit hour. This program is very straightforward and provides students with a great opportunity to finish their baccalaureate degree online.

Virginia Tech

Virginia Tech offers an online Master's of Agricultural and Life Sciences degree. The program is offered completely online and the university lays out a clear schedule of the courses you will take to complete this degree. Your course load will include learning about vegetable crops, microbiology and management. This is a very informative degree program for those who are seeking to make practical use of their degree in the agriculture field. Tuition per credit hour for a Virginia resident can run up to $1,600 per credit hour and an non-resident can end up paying around $2,800 per credit hour.

University of Illinois

U of I offers an M.S. in Agriculture Education. The program is only open to those who already have completed a baccalaureate degree in agriculture. This program can be done online and offers an option for students to complete the program on campus as well. The program lasts about two years and can lead to teacher certification if done on campus. Tuition does not vary for in-state or out-of-state students, however, the tuition can vary from course to course. Students are also given the option to do a thesis or a field project as a curriculum requirement. This program is optimal for those who seek to learn how to teach agriculture in a classroom, however, for distance learners, the certification option is not available.
