University of Illinois at Springfield
U of I offers a bachelor's degree in mathematics that can be done completely online. This program is not suited for those entering college, it is more of a degree completion program in the mathematics major. Students are required to have earned at least 30 credit hours of lower division coursework with at least 3 course credits in English composition, as this is a general requirement for admittance into the U of I as a transfer. Students must also have a GPA of 2.00 in order to enter the program. They can begin taking courses towards the program without officially enrolling, however, the minimum GPA requirement, along with competency and other course requirements should be completed before applying to the online program.
University of Washington
Looking to further your studies in the mathematics field? UW offers a master's of applied mathematics degree online. Students have the option of partaking in full-time or part-time study to complete their required 36 credit hours of coursework. Entrance requirements include GRE scores, letters of recommendation, and transcripts. Applicants are also required to have completed prerequisite coursework that in areas such as linear algebra and differential equations. The entire program costs around $24, 000 for a total of 36 credits.
Oregon State University
Currently working in the mathematics field or teaching? OSU offers two options to complete the M.S. in Science & Mathematics Education degree program online. The free choice learning program offers those in the field of mathematics or science with two years of field related work experience, to complete 45 credit hours of coursework online while managing their current obligations. Its minor incorporates field work study into the curriculum. The school based option allows teachers to complete their coursework at a flexible pace. Its minor focuses more on the education related coursework. Both options give students the choice of completing a mathematics or science major while incorporating pedagogy course study into the program. Students choosing the school based option must complete an oral component of their program on campus.
Texas A & M University
The M.S. in Mathematics offered by TAMU offers 36 credit hour program, completely online. The program also offers a teaching option for those planning to teach mathematics in the classroom. Courses are delivered online in video format. Unlike many schools, TAMU allows you to transfer up to 12 course credit hours into the M.S. program. TAMU does also incorporate the GRE exam into their admission's criteria.
