Edge, by Jeffery Deaver - Deaver is an author who rarely disappoints as he masterfully weaves his tales. In this, his first first-person narrative, Deaver introduces us to some truly unique and interesting characters. The story matches two memorable characters against one another. One must try to protect the intended target while the other seeks to extract information from the target by whatever means necessary. The result is a great story told by one of the true masters. Number ten on the list received a three star rating, but that should not keep you from considering it when looking for a truly enjoyable read.

Capital Crimes, by Stuart Woods - As is the trend with the novels on this lists, Woods re-introduces us to a character from a previous novel. In this political thriller, Will Lee has moved up to the Presidency when a series of murderous attacks on right-wing political figures threatens to send the entire government spiraling down into an endless pit of corruption. While not for everyone, this novel shows the true talents of Woods as he delivers yet another very enjoyable read.
