Best Cruise Lines for Singles in Their 20s

While the down economy may have put a dent in your income, it has also meant that many cruise lines have dropped their prices. For single people in their 20s, choosing the right cruise line can mean the difference between meeting that special someone or being alone the entire trip. Since people in their 20s generally have a fairly limited budget, it is important to keep in mind that the best prices can usually be found by booking a cruise either a year in advance, or by checking for last minute cancellations, where the cruise lines are looking to fill any openings to cut their losses.

The first cruise line that comes to mind for singles in their 20s is the Carnival cruise line. This cruise company is aimed at people who want to party every night and mingle with other young singles. This is a budget cruise line, so it will not have all the frills that more expensive cruise lines have. Normally, these cruises will feature a lot of people who are taking their first or second trip on a cruise. The budget nature of the cruise line also means that it attracts many families, however there are usually separate facilities for families and singles.

Being young and single often means that you do not want to have to worry up about dressing up in fancy clothes every time that you go out. For a casual cruise, Norwegian Cruise Line is an excellent choice. Their passengers tend to consist of a mix of young and middle-aged singles, as well as couples. Generally this cruise line is targeted more at adults than families, so you will likely feel comfortable with more adult oriented activities.

Royal Caribbean features a number of on-ship activities that include rock climbing walls, a pool exclusively for adults, an on-ship surfing attraction and more. While this cruise line is frequented by families, it is also a fun cruise line for young singles. The many activities will keep singles busy and give a chance to mingle during the daytime, rather than just at night. Royal Caribbean features a few different classes of ship, with the Freedom Class being the biggest, with the most activities. The Voyage Class, however, is only slightly smaller and features many of the same activities and may be a better option for the budget minded traveler.

There are certainly other cruise lines that may be fun for young singles in their 20s, it is a good idea to go directly to each cruise line's website to get a full idea of all of the packages that they offer. Many cruise lines make stops at port cities, so this may also factor into your decision.
