No matter your preference Nashville has developed a large repertoire of music and dance. The variety is wide, ranging from country and hip-hop to ballet, tap and classical ballroom. The School of Nashville Ballet is the only school affiliated and officially sanctioned by the prestigious Nashville Ballet. Nashville's fine arts education institute; The Renaissance Center boasts dance instructors with credits from Broadway and major national dance companies. Tap, jazz, ballet, modern, creative and ballroom dance instruction are all offered in semester long classes one day work shops in a newly built addition to the center. Currently offered curriculum includes a 15-week class in tap, jazz and creative dance as well as beginner classes in basic ballet, tap and interpretive dance. One-day workshops include ballroom dancing and master classes in ballet, jazz and hip-hop for those already schooled in the art but in need of added instruction. The semester dance classes will be taught by Brian J. Marcum and Marci Murphree.

Laurie Morrisons School of Dance in Nashville offers a wide variety of dance and gymnastics classes for adults and children as well as adult aerobics programs.

Classes range from 30 to 45 minuets long. There is a discount offered for siblings enrolled after the initial student begins class. Laurie Morrisons School of Dance is unique in that the instructors also address social issues with the younger children and incorporate good manners and life lessons when possible.
