Best Dim Sum in Chicago: The Phoenix in Chinatown

The Phoenix Restaurant in China Town serves up some of the best Dim Sum I have ever eaten. Chinatown is about 5 miles South of Downtown Chicago and only about a $10 cab ride. If you have been on the hunt for the best Dim Sum in Chicago, then head down to the Phoenix and check them out.

Some of the best dishes are the pan fried vegetable rolls and the shrimp rolls. I have to admit though, I have never eaten anything bad on their menu. You should also check out the sticky rice cooked in grape leaves. For something fun try the chicken feet! Ok, you may not want to order that one twice. Kids love that though, so it is worth it if you are taking the kids.

Don't worry if you have never ordered Dim Dump in Chicago or other cities before. The great thing about many Chinese restaurants, including Phoenix is that there are photos of each dish on the menu, English Descriptions, and Chinese descriptions. So, you have entree shots to figure out what our will be ordering!

Plus the waiters in Chicago are extremely nice here, so they do not mind offering up tips on their best Dim Sum dishes. You can always point to what you want to!

Prices at the Phoenix are very affordable for Dim Sum. You can expect to eat dinner, have some tea, and give a tip for less than $20 per person. Jasmine tea is extra, but well worth it as well.

On average the small plates of Dim Sum were less than $8 pop and well worth it. I often go with a group of four people. If we each choose 3 dishes, then thee is way more than enough food and tons of leftover if you wan to tae nay home.

Phoenix is located in Chinatown a few miles south of downtown Chicago. They are basically one stop before the White Six stadium. They are a one block walk off the train and there is also plenty of street parking for your car if you drive.

Weekends can get crowded, but they do roll carts around with the small plates for you to pick from and see right away, so this may be the way to go if you have never eaten Dim Sum.
