Best Discounts when Purchasing a New Car

Rachel Howard
In this day and time, cars have become more of a commodity rather than a necessity. But what about the people who can not afford to pay down on a car? With so many rapid changes in the economy, if one loses their job, does that mean losing their car as well? This very crucial time in the economy has people developing a more frugal mindset, and car companies seem to be making adjustments to assure they don't lose out. Below are some of the great discounts I found posted with the U.S. News Rankings and Reviews when trying to find the best deal for purchasing a new car.

1) BMW: When purchasing a new BMW, 0.9% financing is offered for up to 60 months, plus no payments for 60 days on some of their 2009 models. So if you have been eying a BMW then you still have time to take advantage of this offer, which expires May 31, 2009.

2) Buick, GMC, Cadillac, Chevrolet and more: These car companies as well as many others are offering 0% APR financing for up to 60 months on many models. Cash back rebates are also available on some models. They are also offering a New GM Total Confidence Plan, which includes payment protection and some protection against negative equity. This offer expires June 1, 2009, and is a great opportunity to take advantage of when buying one of the above-mentioned cars. Visit http://usnews.rankingandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Best-Car-Deals/ for other car dealers that are offering this same discount.

3) Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep: These companies are giving cash back offers up to $6,000 on some models, varying by region. This offer expires June 1, 2009.

4) Ford, Lincoln and Mercury: These companies are offering some really great discounts for buying a new car. 0% APR financing for up to 60 months with rebates as high as $5,000 on many 2009 models, plus payment protection under the new Ford Advantage Plan. This offer expires June 30, 2009

5) Toyota: Toyota deals are varying by the region, but many models are available now with 0% financing or cash-back rebates as high as $4,000. This offer expires June 1, 2009.

6) Mazda: Mazda is also offering great discounts with 0-0.9% APR financing for 36 months, which can be combined with cash back offers on most models. This offer expires June 1, 2009.

Note: When coming across these discounts, it would be best to print them out as a reference before going to your local car dealer. This will help with some dealers that may try to argue that the deal is not accepted at their particular location. Good Luck on your search for a new car!
