Best Disney Moderate Resorts

Where to Stay and Where to Avoid

Aimee E
As a native Floridian, I have stayed in and visited Disney's resorts many times. Some, I love, others I can't stand. Here, in order are my ranking for the best moderate resorts when staying at Walt Disney World.

First Place - Port Orleans French Quarter (although this is the smallest of Disney's resorts, the water-taxi and quiet atmosphere make it a favorite with myself and my husband.)

Second Place - Coronado Springs Resort (the Southwest theme is very romantic, however, if you decide to stay here, get all of your meals from The Pepper Market "to go" or else you will have to pay an automatic 10% gratuity, for them basically getting your drink one time, and nothing else. Also, ask to stay in the Casitas or Cabanas section, unless you like 20 minute walks from the Ranchos section with mosquitoes biting you at night.)

Third Place - Port Orleans Riverside (the resort is very large, but the water shuttle to Downtown Disney, and great offerings in the food court somewhat make up for it. Also, they have the Alligator Bayou section, which are larger rooms and can accommodate a party of five.)

Last Place - Caribbean Beach Resort (while ranked last, it is only because this place seriously needs rehabbing, which it is presently getting. The food court is one of the best around, with many offerings, and upon walking out of it, the two gift shops are among the best around in moderate resorts. I just love the pools and the beach area. For those that can't afford the Polynesian, this is the best choice.)

**Please remember these are my opinions based on my staying here. Seasons in which you visit and days of the week also influence this greatly.**
