GT1000
GT1000 is not a required course however many students do take it their freshman year. This course manly serves as an introductory course for entering freshman. There are GT1000 courses that focus on specific majors and there are more generalized GT1000 courses. Students are not limited to taking the GT1000 course that deals with their specific major and can choose one that interests them. There is a course for everyone. For example their is a GT1000 course that specializes in Aerospace, Chemical, or even Computer Engineering. Also for those not sure what their major should be their is an Undecided Engineering GT1000 that helps students choose the right major. Most of the time their are no tests or quizzes in GT1000 however there are exceptions. Instead of tests and quizzes students are usually graded on projects and homework assignments. It is highly recommended that incoming freshman take GT1000 to receive a good introduction to Georgia Tech and its courses.
English
Georgia Tech tends to have more courses focused on technology and science than fine arts. This being said its English department has recently seen great improvements. It is required that all Georgia Tech students receive two credits in English. Many students find English easier then their other technical classes however the level of difficulty depends upon which professor you have. On the language department their is a list of professors and what their courses will cover that semester. It is recommended to read and pick the course that sounds the most interesting to you. Their is a course the focuses on movies, feminism, and even technology.
Intro Courses
Practically every major at Georgia Tech has its own introductory course that students are required to take. Usually this course simply covers the basics that students will come across in later courses. This is a good opportunity to discover whether that major is right for you or not. This course is not as easy as the others listed and does require some work. However, compared to other courses it is a walk in the park.
Georgia Tech does not contain a great deal of easy courses. However, by balancing one's schedule with hard and easy classes students are sure to improve their chances.
