Terri Beck
Easter is a time for kids, from chocolate bunnies to Marshmallow Peeps; children love this time of year. If you have children, I am sure you will likely be coloring Easter eggs. The Easter egg hunt is one of the most enjoyable holiday traditions. In order to get those Easter eggs looking beautiful you have to color them first.

Here is my list of the top three Easter egg coloring kits.

1. PAAS Easter Egg Coloring Kit
This is my favorite kit around; I have used it since I was a small child. This is a great all-in-one kit. All you have to add are the eggs. PAAS makes a variety of Easter egg coloring kits. They are all simple and fun to use. You can buy these kits at your local grocery or drug store.
Visit the PAAS website for more information.

2. Disney's Easter Egg Coloring Kit
These are great for kids because they come in Disney movie themes. For example, you can get a Cars theme. They have themes for boys and girls. I recommend getting a variety of them. These kits can be found at www.ebay.com.

3. Ukrainian Easter Egg Kit
If you and your family want to create some really beautiful eggs that will last a lifetime; try a Ukrainian Easter egg kit. I have given a link below on how to hollow out your egg, so that it can be kept. This is a really great project for the older kids in your family. You can find Ukrainian Easter egg kits here.

Tips for coloring Easter eggs

1. Obviously, it is best to hard-boil your eggs before coloring. This is especially necessary if you are going to do an Easter egg hunt with them.
2. If you want to keep some of your eggs after Easter, you can drain them. This way you can keep them forever if you choose. The PAAS site tells you how to correctly drain your eggs.
3. Hard-boil your eggs correctly by boiling them for no more than fifteen minutes.
4. To be sure the eggs are done take one out and spin it. If it is done cooking then it will spin rapidly. If it spins slowly then your eggs need to cook longer.
5. According to www.easter-stuff.net, the best place to dry your eggs is right in the carton. This way they do not roll around and get messed up.

Happy Easter!
