Biodegradable Airsoft BBs
Do people complain about the large number of littered airsoft bbs left all over after an airsoft game, especially outdoors? To fix this problem, and help improve the image of airsofts worldwide, use biodegradable bbs. They come in a variety of sizes, from the standard and relatively light .12 grams to the heavy and accurate .20 gram bbs. A large selection of biodegradable airsoft bbs are available online and often sold in local shops as well. Companies like Crossman, TSD Tactical, SoftAir and Gameface, plus many more, all make biodegradable bbs. I have found biodegradable eco-friendly airsoft bbs to work fine for all sorts of guns, in my experience, from high-end Tokyo Marui M4A1s to the cheaper CYMA spring loaded airsoft pistols and rifles. Since they may shatter on impact easier than the non-biodegradable kind, it is suggest not to use the 'mesh' style face masks while playing with them (opting instead for a full face mask protection). However, on the whole, biodegradable airsoft bbs are a great choice and certainly a wonderful way to play airsoft in a sustainable, non-littering manner. Check out Airsplat, Airsoft Atlanta, and ShortyUSA for great websites selling biodegradable airsoft bbs today!
Eco-Paintballs
Eco-friendly paintball products have been popular for a longer time than the relatively new types of biodegradable airsoft bbs. There are several companies making "green" paintballs, including the much discussed DSX Eco Paintballs, called the Eco Fill. These use a oil-free vegetable ingredient that is non-toxic and non-polluting, according to their reports. At the same time, these are supposedly very high quality and excellent paintballs. Check them out online at DSX's website. Another option is the RAP4 Eco Friendly Paintballs. They are sold online here and are made from a soy-based formula, with spots fading away after heavy sunlight and the shell supposedly breaking apart for easy biodegradation. These and other eco-friendly paintball products help keep the wonderful sport of paintball sustainable, green and truly fun!
