Best End of Season Plus Size Swimwear for 2007

Stephanie Dray
Maybe you're only now getting to enjoy the weather, or perhaps you have a vacation planned later in the year, in warmer climes. Whatever the reason, it's not too late to pick up some end of season plus size swimwear. Here's a list of some of the best options for vivacious and curvaceous women who are ready to beat the heat:

Fashion Bug's 2-piece stud-trimmed skirtini. Fashion Bug has a huge variety of gorgeous end of season plus size swimwear available on their website and in their stores, but this 2-piece skirtini makes the top of the list because in brown, it's so classy, one could wear it as resort-wear in the cruise dining room before getting it wet in the pool and no one would be the wiser.

Fashion Bug's Swim Separates. Maybe a plus size swim skirt is your style. Maybe you'd prefer swim shorts or a brief! You can mix and match Fashion Bug's classic bottoms with the swim top of your choice for a custom look by the pool.

Woman Within's Solid hip-slimming swimdress. This bathing suit has bra-friendly straps and princess seams. Moreover, there's a powernet tummy-control panel and the drape of the garment is lovely, falling straight from the narrowest part of your body, and floating away. This swimwear is especially nice in purple, so don't feel as if you're stuck with black.

Woman Within's Perft-fit swim separates. The solid tankini top is especially fabulous plus size swimwear, because it actually flares at the hips so as not to cling to the belly. Moreover, the tankini top has built-in support in the way of foam cups, but also has a high square back in case you want to add a sports bra beneath for extra support. Match it with a coordinating swimskirt and you may just feel more comfortable at the pool in swimwear than you ever have before.

Woman Within's Thigh-trimming 2-piece bike short tankini. For something more sporty, few end of season plus size swimwear options are as cute as this tankini. With striped trim, foam cups, and a high square back, the top is well designed for the plus size figure. But the attached bike shorts are actually covered, giving them the look of a cheerleading skirt.

Zaftique's Dazzling Empire Suit-Blue/Black. Zaftique has some of the most unusual plus size swimwear on the market today, and this one piece has very wide straps which both provides coverage from the sun and balances the plus silhouette. (Spaghetti straps often look overwhelmed on the plus size woman, and should be avoided if possible.)

Catherines' Polka-Dot Double-Strap Swimdress. In spite of the advisability to avoid spaghetti straps, it might be worth the risk with Catherines' polka dot plus size swimwear. It has a built-in bra and a tummy-control panel, but all of that is secondary to the fact that this plus size swimwear is just plain fun!
