At Cato's you can find all sizes from petites to plus sizes. They have many pants suits to mix and match or you can choose dresses, or skirts and tops. They have a wide variety of colors and styles, so you can actually color co-ordinate with the wedding colors. No matter what season you need to dress for, you will find what you want at www.catofashions.com. For example, you can purchase a great looking skirt, the Georgette for only 19.99, and add the beautiful beaded sweater that matches the colors for only $21.99. This set is beautiful and the dark purple looks great on most people. Another set available is the textured charmeuse blouse, in burgundy, for only $17.99. To go with this you can choose the dressy pants, in black for only $19.99. Or you can choose the hounds tooth jacket for only $29.99, and the skirt for $19.99. Add a color co-ordinating blouse and you have a nice set, if you like this style. For more styles and more sizes, you can visit any store and see what they have available and you can also order your items on line.
This store also has many styles that are on clearance, and they don't go on clearance because they are out of season, but to make room for more styles, as they change frequently. If you go into a store, you will find items marked way down, as my mother had purchased a $60 jacket for only $11, her entire outfit she purchased that day, jacket, blouse, and pants only cost her $28. The entire outfit full cost was over $140. So if you are pinched for funds, I would definitely look at this shop. Store locators will get you to the closest one in your area.
If you are ready to part with your funds, you can also shop at this site, www.motherofthebridedresses.biz. They feature designers such as Jovani, Montage, Cameron Blake, Rina di Montella, Destinations Wedding, and Mon Cheri Evenings. Prices range from $298 from Montage by Mon Cheri, to $878, another gown by Montage. Size charts are easy to follow and easy to figure out. They have sizes ranging from size 6 to size 22, depending on the designer you choose. This site does not appear to have a store available to go to and see items in person.
The second site that I came to was www.elegantfamilyfashions.com. This site has many styles and colors to choose from, with sizes ranging from size 4 to size 22 and above in some styles. The prices in this site range from as little as $66 for dresses on sale, to about $230. These dresses are stylish and can be worn again after the wedding day for other functions. This site appears to be an on line e-tailer also, and it does offer size charts that can be easily used if you know what you are doing. A really great plus for this site is that it accepts PayPal!
The third site that I have found is www.motherofthebride.com, and it features the designer Barrie Pace. Her gowns are elegant and stylish, but I am not sure just how many Mother's would want to dress like this or could pull it off even if they did. Over all, they do have fashions for plus size, petites and more. They offer gowns made mostly of chiffon, which is soft and flowing. Prices range from $317 to over $600. This site has a fairly easy to follow size chart, and you can only order through the site or on the phone.
The fourth site is www.therosedress.com. They feature many styles also and sizes ranging from petites size 6 to women's size 6X. The dresses are beautifully made and elegant, even those that are for larger people. They are designed with the larger people in mind, not just a dress for skinny people enlarged. These dresses are by Alyce Designs. They have prices ranging from $68 to just $139. This site also has an easy to use size chart, and you can order on the phone and have assistance, or you can order on line. These dresses can be immediately shipped if they are in their in store data base, or if they have to ship it from their warehouse, it will take an additional 5 days.
The next site that I visited was www.houseofbrides.com. This site features designers such as Bonny, Faviana New York, Jacquelin Exclusive, and Mon Cheri Bridals and many more. Gowns at this site run in the price range of $120 on the low end, by Bonny, to $870 on the top end, by Mon Cheri Bridals. This site is not very user friendly if you are looking for certain price ranges. You need to search through each designer, and then search through to find the prices you can afford, then you can concentrate on the sizes availabe. They do have however an easy to use size chart, broke down to each designer. They also have phone numbers available to call and ask questions about sizing, and to check your order once it is placed.
The last site that I went to was www.magnoliabridalonline.com. This site is for a shop that can be visited in Fredericksburg, Virginia, or you can order on line. If you are close enough, you can request an appointment to try on gowns, check out what they have and for alterations, to set up for photography or to order any of the specialty items such as invitations. Their gowns are elegant and more what I would expect from a mother of the bride. They range in price from about $170 to $190 in cost. They do ship to other locations, and shipping charges below $100 in purchases is $7.95. Over $100 in purchases and your shipping is free. You can contact them for any help you need with sizing and with any questions. They can ship an in-stock item in 72 hours, or if they need to order it in, it can take an additional 7 to 10 days, then add the shipping time it takes to get to you. If you have to have it in a hurry, they suggest that you call them and they will help you with ordering and to ensure that your item will be available.
