Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

As all good chocoholics will admit to, I have spent many hours in pursuit of the perfect chocolate chip cookie. I don't know if "perfection" exists, but for my taste this recipe is one of the very best.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Ingredients

1 cup (250 mL) butter

1 cup (250 mL) brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. (5 mL) vanilla

1 ½ cups (375 mL) flour

1 tsp. (5 mL) baking powder

½ cup (125 mL) chopped pecans

1 cup (250 mL) chocolate chips

Steps

1. Using an electric mixer, cream butter

2. Gradually add brown sugar, beating until light and fluffy

3. Add egg and vanilla

4. Sift together flour and baking powder, and add to mixture

5. Add chopped pecans and chocolate chips

6. Drop by spoonfuls onto buttered cookie sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes
