Sculpting Leg Exercise: Stairs
Probably the best sculpting leg exercise out there is stairs. If you have access to a lot of them, it can be more fun to be walking up real stairs (although you need to spend time coming down stairs as well), or you can use a stairs machine at your local gym. A solid ten minutes of stairs daily can do miracles in sculpting all parts of your leg muscles.
Sculpting Leg Exercise: Running
In addition to being great cardio exercise, running or jogging will also get you great sculpted leg muscles. Fast or slow, running will work your leg muscles, and if you don't run often, you will be sure to feel the soreness the next day. Keep pushing through it, and you will find that your strength and endurance increases, as do your muscles!
At-Home Sculpting Leg Exercise: Calf Raises
Best done on a stair, calf raises are very easy sculpting leg exercises to do at home because your weight provides all the resistance you need. Stand with your toes on a step and your heels hanging over the edge, and then in a slow and controlled motion, lift your heels as high as they will go, and then lower them as low as they will go. Do 3 sets of 10 repetitions apiece at least twice per day. If you want a good way to pass the time while you brush your teeth, this is a great choice!
If you prefer even more of a challenge, you can do calf raises on each leg individually. You may need to hold onto something for balance as you raise yourself, but make sure that your calf is doing all the work, not your arm. These will give you sculpted leg muscles with a lot of definition in your calves.
At-Home Sculpting Leg Exercise: Lunges
Another exercise to sculpt leg muscles that can be done at home is lunges. Find a long stretch of space (or plan to go back and forth a lot), and lunge across it. To get the best sculpting, go slowly, and have good form. You should end with all your joints at right angles (forward leg with thigh horizontal and shin vertical, and back leg with thigh vertical and shin horizontal), and then raise up on the forward leg and take the next step. To add resistance if this is too easy, hold free weights (or canned food) in each hand.
At-Home Sculpting Leg Exercise: Chairs
Unlike the name may suggest, this sculpting leg exercise does not involve sitting in chairs. Instead, you become the chair, with your thighs as the horizontal surface. These work the same muscles as lunges, but in a different way. You squat down, with your back straight up and down, and your knees and hips making right angles so your thighs are horizontal. Then hold this position for as long as you can (15-20 seconds is a good starting point), come back up for a minute or two, and repeat. This can also be done with your back flat against a wall if it is too difficult without.
