As summer disappears into crisp cool air and colorful leaves, toddlers and preschoolers start to notice the change. This is a great time to start teaching your child about the seasons. There are many great fall books appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers. Mouse's First Fall by Lauren Thompson. Mouse experiences every season in a separate book in this cute series for toddlers and preschoolers. In Mouse's First Fall, Mouse discovers all of the beautiful colors of autumn as well as the unique shapes of the fall leaves. Mouse and his friend also enjoy jumping in piles of fall leaves. The beautiful quintessential fall colors and focus on the fun of fall leaves makes this book a great fall book for toddlers and preschoolers.

Arthur Jumps into Fall by Marc Brown. Arthur is a favorite character of children from toddlers to young elementary school students. Simplier than many of the other Arthur books, Arthur Jumps into Fall features Arthur being given a job to do: raking leaves. He works hard raking but then finds the leaves too tempting and jumps in along with his friends. Another fun introduction to fall, this book is a great fall book for toddlers and preschoolers.

Dragon's Fall Fairby Mara Conlon. This recently published book features the adorable dragon character in all his blue splendor. This book takes the fun of fall festivals, including hay rides, and brings it to life through the eyes of dragon. If you are attending any sort of fall fair with your little one, this is an especially great fall book for your toddler or preschooler.

Who Loves the Fall?by Bob Raczka. The catching rhyming words of this fall book for toddlers and preschoolers will keep young ones interested in the words of the book. This fall book goes beyond just fall leaves and introduces all sorts of fall fare from apple pies to Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving dinner and bears hibernating.
