Fall Wedding Decoration Idea: Pumpkins
I absolutely love pumpkins as an element of a fall wedding. I think it is because I once saw pictures of a friend's fall wedding at which they had pumpkins as decorations and even had all the supplies for wedding guests to carve pumpkins at the reception. They made for beautifully festive photographs, and I know that the guests really enjoyed the pumpkins and will remember the wedding fondly and vividly.
As far as how you incorporate pumpkins into your wedding, be creative. If you have really crafty friends, see if they can carve some wedding-related designs into pumpkins and have them visible jack-o-lantern style as guests come in. Cut a hole in the top of a small pumpkin and use it as a candleholder. The pumpkin possibilities are endless!
Fall Wedding Decoration Idea: Autumn Leaves
The bright reds and oranges of autumn leaves can be a recurring element in your fall wedding decorations, and the best part is that they are really cheap (read: free) to include in things like bouquets and centerpieces. Have you ever considered just gathering a bunch of pretty, freshly dropped maple leaves and putting them in a bud vase? It's absolutely beautiful!
Rather than strewing rose petals down the aisle, find some beautiful fire-red leaves to use instead. It's resourceful, easy on the budget, and helps tie your wedding décor into the season a bit better.
Fall Wedding Decoration Idea: Tulle and White Ribbon
In the midst of all the darker colors of the fall wedding, you will also want to make sure you have enough white in your decorations (unless you really want the bride to stand out). Try to incorporate white in the form of tulle or white ribbon into your centerpieces, aisle decorations, and anything else. This will help to lighten things up because it is, after all, a wedding.
Fall Wedding Decoration Idea: Gazebo or Trellis with Tulle and Autumn Leaves
One of the most beautiful ways to decorate at your fall wedding is to have a gazebo or trellis that you have decorated with tulle and autumn leaves. The autumn leaves can be in between folded layers of tulle, and then woven through the trellis or gazebo, and attached with white pipe cleaners. Finish it off with a few autumn leaves placed in highly visible locations, and maybe even a couple pumpkins on the sides to frame the whole thing.
Whatever you do, be creative with the unique resources you have available during the fall, rather than trying to replicate the decorations at a summer wedding. Your guests will love it because it is unique, and you will grow attached to it as well!
