Best 'Family Guy' Songs and 'Family Guy' Christmas Gift Ideas

If you want to make your favorite 'Family Guy' fans have a very special freakin' Christmas, then you need to come up with some creative and fun 'Family Guy' Christmas gift ideas. I was trying to think of something unique myself, and started thinking about what some of my favorite parts of 'Family Guy' are, and the first thing I thought about were the songs. There are a wide variety of songs played and parodied on 'Family Guy', from Conway Twitty classics to show tunes and plenty of funky 80's songs. So if you're looking for fun Christmas gift ideas for 'Family Guy' fans, try making mix CDs of some of these great songs that have been played on the show (I've also included some other 'Family Guy' Christmas gift ideas that have to do with the episodes the songs are featured in):

'Axel F' from 'Meet the Quagmires' - This has to be one of my favorite 'Family Guy' songs of all time, even though there are no words. It's the music that Cleveland and Peter are dancing to in a club when Peter goes back in time to 1984 after Death grants his wish to be 18 again. Other Christmas gift ideas related to this song could be the 'Beverly Hills Cop' DVD (because 'Axel F' is most well-known for being the movie's theme song), or any Molly Ringwald movie (Peter ends up married to her instead of Lois in the episode).

'Surfin' Bird' from 'I Dream of Jesus' - This is one of the must-have songs on your 'Family Guy' playlist, because it is Peter's favorite. Just beware; whoever you give your CD to might start incessantly singing the extremely addictive lyrics. Other Christmas gift ideas to go along with one of the most well-known songs from 'Family Guy' are anything 'Office Space' or Jesus related (bonus points if you can find a gift that combines the two).

'Baby, I Love Your Way' from 'Death Lives' - This is one of the most special 'Family Guy' songs because it's Peter and Lois' song, but it's also very special to me because me and my husband decided to make it our song, too. Peter Griffin screws up in the episode, but somehow Peter Frampton makes everything all right. And as for 'Family Guy' Christmas gift ideas to go with this song, all I can say is "Frampton Comes Alive".

'Never Gonna Give You Up' from 'Meet the Quagmires - No 'Family Guy' mix CD is complete without the rickrolling tune! This little obscure song has become one of the most well-known of this generation as an internet meme, and I love the way it's used in this episode. (In a 'Back to the Future' parody, Brian plays it onstage instead of 'Johnny B. Goode'). So when it comes to 'Family Guy' Christmas gift ideas related to this episode, go for anything 'Back to the Future' related and a bag of Pecan Sandies (Roger from 'American Dad!' makes an appearance in the episode asking who ate all of his).

'Rocket Man' (William Shatner version) from 'And the Wiener Is...' - This is perhaps one of the best Stewie songs from 'Family Guy', and he does a pretty incredible job of imitating William Shatner. This episode also contains one of my favorite funky 80's songs in 'Electric Avenue' (albeit a marching band version). When it comes to Christmas gift ideas inspired by this episode, I guess just go with a holiday favorite: a nice summer sausage.

'Cat's in the Cradle' from 'The Son Also Draws' - This is perhaps one of the most touching songs about a father/son relationship ever written, and I love the surreal way the trees sing it in this episode. A copy of Ernest Hemingway's 'The Sun Also Rises' would be one of the more intellectually-stimulating Christmas gift ideas inspired by a 'Family Guy' episode.

'Rock Lobster' from 'The Cleveland-Loretta Quagmire' - The real 'Rock Lobster' is almost as good as Peter's version, and one of the most bizarre (but addicting!) songs ever. Christmas gift ideas based on happenings in this episode could include a copy of 'Rocky III' and, since Quagmire has a huge role in it, a pair of leopard print briefs.

'Rock and Roll All Nite' from 'Road to Europe' - This is one of the most forgettable songs of 'Family Guy', apparently, because Lois can't remember the lyrics to it when put on the spot by KISS themselves. When it comes to Christmas gift ideas based on this episode, take your pick from the millions of items of merchandise KISS band members have slapped their faces on.

'I Don't Want to Wait' from 'Peterotica' - Peter has expressed his love of 'Dawson's Creek' in the past, and while he changes up the lyrics to the show's theme song in this episode a bit, the original version is still almost as ridiculous now.

'I See the Want to in Your Eyes' from 'The Juice is Loose'; 'Hello Darlin' from 'Peter's Daughter'; and 'Your Love Had Taken Me That High' and 'You've Never Been This Far Before' from 'Bill and Peter's Bogus Journey' - I love any of Conway Twitty's appearances on 'Family Guy', and his little country songs have really started to grow on me. But if these Conway Twitty songs aren't enough for the hardcore 'Family Guy' fan, throw in a few Conway Twitty CDs or DVDs of the show that his segments are taken from for 'Family Guy', that countrified classic, 'Hee Haw'.

A few more songs featured on 'Family Guy' that you might want to use for your mix CD are 'Puttin' on the Ritz', 'Hungry Eyes', 'Moving in Stereo', 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go', and 'Up Where We Belong'.

These 'Family Guy' songs and related Christmas gift ideas may seem to be stretching it a bit, but you could have a lot of fun with your favorite 'Family Guy' superfan by seeing if they can connect the Christmas gifts to the songs on the CD (and at least the 'Family Guy' fans on your list will have a much better Christmas than the Griffins).
