If you live in or will be visiting Western New York, you should know that there are several fun and light-hearted festivals and celebrations there to enjoy. The party's not all in NYC. The festivals in Western New York celebrate life, culture and diversity in a way that everyone can enjoy.

The World's Largest Disco Celebration

Buffalo, NY

Date: November 29, 2008

This is one disco celebration you won't want to miss! The event will be held at the Buffalo Convention Center. Although the Celebrity Guest isn't announced until the morning of the event, past celebrities include Danny Bonaduce, Erik Estrada and Leif Garrett. For more info, check out the festival's website.

The Rochester Irish Festival

Rochester, NY

Shakespeare In Delaware Park

Buffalo, NY

This is a free Shakespeare festival that has been a tradition in Buffalo for more than 30 years. King Lear and The Merry Wives of Windsor will be performed this year. This highly popular festival attracts an average of 50,000 spectators each year!

Polish Heritage Festival

Hamburg, NY

Dates: May 30 - June 1, 2008

The Polish Heritage Festival is held at the local fairgrounds, and is a rousing celebration of Polish-American heritage featuring singers, actors, food and more. For more information, check out their website.

50's Festival & Car Show

Arcade, NY

Date: Saturday, July 26, 2008

This one-day even in Arcade fills the streets with dozens of classic cars. Entertainment includes a sock-hop, fireworks and even a performance by Marc Cole, one of the world's best Elvis impersonators.
