Best Fishing Spot in New Rochelle, New York

Ever since I was young, one of the things that I have always enjoyed is fishing. I can remember going on fishing trips with my father and spending hours waiting for my first fish to come along. Fishing is a sport that most people get tired of because it requires a lot of waiting but I love fishing and I enjoy the waiting. There is nothing better than going fishing with a few friends and catching up with their current stories while attempting to catch a fish. We sometimes make it an event and bet a dinner on the fishing and that makes the experience a lot better. With this being the case I spent a lot of time looking for the best fishing spots in New Rochelle, New York and I have been able to find some great spots to fish.

Hudson Park is one of my favorite places to fish because of the availability of fishing here. The address is 75 Hudson Park Rd. and the unique thing about this spot is that it never closes. The fishing section of the park is located in the parking lot and you are allowed to fish at any time of night. This makes it easy to fish here and there are a lot of professional fishers that fish here every night during the summer. I have found some Trout fish here and it is pretty easy to catch a fish here. This is a place that is a must if you have just started fishing because the people that attend this fishing spot love to give advice and even lend bait.

Glen Island Park is located at 450 Pelham Road and this is a beautiful place to fish because they also have picnic tables and a park for children to enjoy. The grounds are 105 acres and the nature setting is beautiful here. The park is officially closed at 9PM but many people fish here later. You can fish directly into the Long Island Sound and I have been able to catch a Bass fish here. However, there usually a small group of fishers here and no local bait shop so you should only fish here if you are enjoying the park in addition to fishing.

Five Islands Park is located at 754 Boston Post Rd. and the unique thing about this spot is that fishing here is part of their campgrounds activities. There is no bit shop here or docks to fish off of but if you are looking for a nice place to fish on land with other fishers then come here. They close the park at 7PM so you should have your fishing done before then.
