If you are looking for good fishing spots in or around Pike County, Ohio, then look no further because you found them! Ohio is an abundant source of fishing spots and other fun activities like hiking and camping.

Scioto Trail State Park at Chillicothe, Ohio is a fisherman's dream come true. Bluegill and Largemouth Bass, Catfish and Trout is stocked in two lakes. Both lakes allow boating with an electric motor or paddles. One lake has a small swimming area and a boat rental shop. The other lake has nothing but pure fishing. The hilltop area is coated with trees and veined with hiking trails which helps to insure a peaceful and quiet fishing trip. Camping is available, either through a camping site or through a rental cabin. There is a small store if you need anything and two great cities are only a short drive away if you want something not provided. My family fished at Scioto Trails all of last summer and we were surprised at the number of catches.

In Latham, Long's Retreat is the place to go fishing. A twenty acre lake offers you and your fishing buddies all the room you need to move around. Long's Retreat has a nice variety of fish including catfish and Bass. This is the place to go fishing if your non-fishing enthusiast family decide to come along because Long's retreat is a family fun resort. There is swimming, mini-golf, go-kart racing and more. There is even a SplashPad for the youngest members. While fishing is free, these extras do cost money.

Pike Lake State Park in Chillicothe offers a nice place to sit, relax, and catch tons of fish. Pike Lake offers Bass and Bluegill for those that want to spend the time to catch them. While the lake isn't stocked as well as it could be, there is some big fish. The only extra rule when fishing here is that Bass over fifteen inches must be thrown back in. Pike Lake State Park allows paddle boats and those with electric motors.

Lake White in Waverly, Ohio is the only lake where gas engine boats are allowed. This lake offers huge variety fish. Not only can the fish be found anywhere in the water, there is a small dam at one end where fish like to gather. A fisherman is sure to have some competition though since it is a local favorite fishing spot. Lake White is currently not offering their camping sites for rental, but that is likely to change soon.
