Best Food Stores in Ohio's Amish Country: Part Two

The Second Part of a Series Detailing the Best Food Stores in the Amish Country of Ohio

Thomas West
As anyone who has traveled to Ohio's Amish Country knows, the region is full of places to buy Amish food. This food, most would agree, is some of the highest-quality to be found, due in large part to the fact that the Amish take a great deal of pride in producing their food products and that most of the foods are raised naturally. If you're in the region, be sure to visit any one of these fine establishments all of which offer a great selection of Amish food products.

Dutch Valley Market
This food shop, located next to both a restaurant and a hotel, is one of the first food places you will see on your visit to Ohio's Amish Country. Although they sell a large number of food items, their meats are what set this particular Amish market apart from the rest. They offer meat that is not only healthy and naturally-raised (and is USDA-inspected,) but also of the finest quality, with a number of different types on offer, ranging from bacon to various cuts of beef. You won't be able to visit this market without taking something home with you.

Troyer's A Country Market
Located on the main road leading through Ohio's Amish Country, Troyer's A Country Market is another must-stop on your food shopping tour. This special little shop has a number of items for sale that you will want to take home, including a variety of cheeses (featuring some of the best in the Amish Country,) their famous jerky, and the canned goods that are one of their most popular products (including numerous types of jellies, jams, and relishes.) You don't be able to leave here without putting at least a couple of things in your cart.

Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market

For a complete immersion in the Amish shopping experience, be sure to stop by the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market, which sells not only Amish food products but also numerous other products as well, including candles, furniture, and almost any other kind of Amish product you can imagine. This is also a fine place to bring the whole family, as the flea market is also home to a number of animals, including miniature donkeys that are always a favorite with children.

Walnut Creek Cheese
For the last stop on your Amish food tour, be sure to stop by Walnut Creek Cheese, where you will be able to buy, you guessed it, more of that famous Amish cheese, as well as a number of other food products. This particular food store is located on the site of the home of the first Amish settler. They are especially famous for their jerky, although they also offer a number of kitchen accessories that will make a great addition to any home.

Regardless of whether you're looking for cheese or meats or something else entirely, you're sure to find it at one of the many fine food stores located in Ohio's Amish country. When you leave this delightful slice of America, you'll almost certainly have some delicious food to show for it.
