Finger foods. If your apartment or house warming party is informal it's best to stick with finger foods. This is because people will want to mingle throughout your apartment or house and will need to keep their hands free of a heavy plate. With finger food on the menu for your apartment or house warming, guests they can take a little bit of food as they please without feeling pressure to fill up their plates.
Chicken wings or boneless chicken. Lots of people like chicken so serve some chicken wings or boneless chicken to your apartment or house warming guests. Have some dipping sauce ready including ranch, buffalo and honey mustard.
Pot stickers. You can purchase pot stickers like Trader Joe's Chicken Gyoza Potstickers or Ajinomoto Chicken And Vegetable Potstickers to serve at your house warming. Potstickers are a fun food to eat and your guests will likely want seconds.
Meatballs. You can make your own meatballs or buy them pre-cooked and frozen. One suggestion is Trader Joe's meatballs. They offer five different kinds of meatballs you can put on your menu. You make your own tangy sweet sauce to compliment the meatballs or pick up a can of Prego sauce.
Mini sandwiches. You'll have fun making a tray of mini sandwiches for the guests of your apartment or house warming party. Make sure your menu has a variety of sandwiches and toppings so everyone can partake. If you don't want to make the sandwiches, you can order them from a sub shop like Subway.
Vegetable, fruit and cheese trays are great menu items for picky eaters. Party guests will know there is only one ingredient in each piece of cheese, fruit or vegetable- the item itself. They can pick and choose what they want without asking you what's in every dish. You can purchase a party tray from the grocery store or make one yourself.
During the apartment or house warming party serve beverages as well as dessert as part of your menu. If your open house has flexible hours people will arrive at different times and different hunger needs. One apartment warming attendee may have already eaten lunch and just wants a piece of dessert and another party attendee could want a full course meal. Make sure there is variety of food.
Some dessert menu suggestions are Mrs. Fields cookies, Entenmann's cake or a Sara Lee pie. You can also make cookies cakes and pies homemade if you have the time. Even if you don't, your house warming guests will appreciate the effort you took to make your home look nice and inviting for the gathering.
