Free Homeschool lesson plans, printables, worksheets, and resources are a great way to supplement an existing homeschool curriculum or to combine together to create a customized homeschool curriculum plan. They are also great as something fun to do when the kids are bored or if they finish their school work early and need something else to do.

Whatever your family's reason for needing free homeschool lesson plans, these websites are sure to have something available to suit your needs. As a parent and homeschool teacher who is always on the lookout for free resources, I have come across a great number of websites over the years. Here are some of what I consider the best websites for free homeschool lesson plans, printables, worksheets, and other resources.

LocalSchoolDirectory.com
LocalSchoolDirectory.com offers a range of free homeschool lesson plans, organized by grade level, as well as by subject. Parents and homeschool teachers can decide which way they'd like to browse the lesson plans. This website is great for a supplemental resource. In addition to the free homeschool lesson plans, Local School Directory also has articles and information on schools.

Internet4Classrooms.com
Internet4Classrooms is packed full of free K-12 games, free lesson plans, free activities, and other free resources for supplemental learning throughout the school year. The huge lists of linked resources can be accessed by grade level or subject. All resources linked to are free.

TeacherVision.com
Find lesson plans, printables, and much more at Teacher Vision. Parents and teachers can subscribe to the free newsletter for tons of free resources. In addition, there is a large library of free printables, worksheets, lesson plans, and resources available on the site for varied grade levels and subjects.

BusyTeachersCafe.com
Here you'll have access to themed activities, lesson plans, teacher resources, and free printables. At Busy Teacher's Cafe, teachers and parents will definitely find enough free printables and resources to keep those kids busy for a while.

Parents and teachers can subscribe to the newsletter in order receive free weekly lesson plans, worksheets, and other resources. On the Worksheet Library website, there also are hundreds of free printables, worksheets, and resources available.

History is known for its cable channel that airs historical documentaries. However, television documentaries are not all that it has to offer. The classroom section of History.com contains a library of free interactive lessons, videos, quizzes, and more.

An interactive website, full of a variety of free lesson plans, activities, and resources, Multiplication.com is very useful. This website can help children learn the concept of multiplication more effectively. It also is a great tool for children who are struggling with multiplication facts.

Starfall.com
If you need a great supple,mental method to teach your child the alphabet, as well as how to read, Starfall.com can help. Split into different levels and sections, according to skill level, Starfall breaks down the reading process and makes it fun with free interactive lessons, games, and activities.

Scholastic.com
Known as an excellent resource for books, Scholastic.com also is a wonderful teacher resource tool. At Scholastic, there are free printables, crafts, worksheets, lesson plans, and even holiday content. For instnace, the Christmas education section includes Christmas carols. There also are mini books that can be printed out.

DiscoveryEducation.com
The popular television channel that has been helping to educate kids for years also has other benefits. At DiscoveryEducation.com, parents, students, and teachers can access educational videos, free printables, free worksheets, free lesson plans, and more. There also is a section for science fairs.

    Glad to help Brenda. There should definitely be something on more than one of these sites. Internet4classrooms.com has lots of great games that she'd probably find fun, while learning from at the same time. :-)
