The website Teacher Vision has a couple of free Martin Luther King Jr. coloring pages that are realistic in style.

The first one is a simple portrait of the civil rights leader. He has a somewhat serious expression in the picture. In addition to the portrait, there is a phrase typed above which reads: "January 15 is Martin Luther King's birthday. Martin Luther King was a great American. The second one is a picture of the civil rights leader wearing a suit and tie. There is a decorative border design around the portrait which many kids would find fun to color. There is also a description of who he was and what he did for Americans. This description is constructed for slightly older kids than the previous one described. The background is made up of the Liberty Bell. The only downside to this free printable page is the it contains a lot of black areas which will take more of your printer ink to print out.

Class Brain

Class Brain has a free MLK coloring page that is available in a PDF file. This one isn't as realistic as the others mentioned, but it still is not as cartoonish as some other sites either. In this printable picture, MLK appears to have his eyes closed as he is looking downward which gives him a more somber expression. To print out, open the PDF file.
