A brand-new "magnifique" casual French café takes your imagination and your appetite away to France with a "twist" . . . the French Twist Café, that is!
Oro Valley's local Belanger family bravely opened the French Twist Café's door in the heat of this drought-ridden 2006 late spring season. They are the newest addition to the breakfast and lunch choices in the northwest Tucson area. You'll find the French Twist Café just north of the Hilton El Conquistador on Oracle Road, next to Pizzeria Uno and Holiday Inn Express in Oro Valley. The Belanger family know their French cuisine, as well as how to create a great French coffee shop atmosphere in both their patio and dining room eating areas surrounded by soft music that puts your heart in Paris.
The order markers guests receive while waiting for their meal to be prepared are actual postcards of places in France, carefully laminated, numbered and displayed on the table in lovely silver stands. If the French country décor and the luscious aroma weren't enough, the French postcards really put you in the Paris mood.
On Sundays, the French Twist offers a special crepe menu. Monday through Saturday, the French Twist presents mouth-watering "croks" (sandwiches). All seven days of the week, they offer a full array of menu choices, including salads, soup, quiche, & pastries.
They would not be the great French café they are without a consistent offering of mouth-watering pastries and sweet desserts. Their Crème Brule is not to be missed - in fact, everything on the menu is top quality and fair priced. Items range from $1.95 for a fresh, flakey croissant to about $10.95 for the daily special.
Their unique blends of Aztec Chocolate and European Drinking Chocolate almost make you forget the French Twist also offers a grand variety of superb coffees and teas.
But wait! There's more! The Belanger family just added more "twists" to Oro Valley's culinary fare:
Starting July 14, 2006, they will serve a tempting dinner menu on Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm-9pm, of entrees, appetizers, salads, and dessert items! And - as they have for many weeks already - with a phone call from you, they will prepare a special take-out dinner, ready for pick-up, hot & fresh by 6 o'clock, weekdays.
To enjoy the French Twist Café in Oro Valley, they are easily found at the San Jose Plaza with Pizzeria Uno & Holiday Inn Express, on Oracle Road, just north of the Hilton El Conquistador Resort.

Nope - The business was sold. New restaurant opened in it's place. It is called "Down Home Delights." Very good, but it's not French.
