Black Friday is a day of madness, little sleep, long lines, and bargains. Our family is one of those crazy groups you see huddled in the dark with steaming cups of coffee while waiting for stores to open. My niece and I have a goal every year to be the first in line and my Mom comes awhile later with the coffee. We have even managed to get the husbands involved a few times. This year as every year we will spend hours on Thanksgiving Day cutting out sales, lining them up, and making a plan that will maximize our shopping while reducing our run around. My son was finally old enough last year to be the "pile guard". The pile guard holds the position of standing near the checkouts (not to near that we are in the way) and guarding the pile as the rest of us run around the store without carts so that we can maneuver through the crowd quicker. We have a whole system that has yet to fail us, every year we have gotten every thing on our lists, plus much more. At the risk of adding to the crowd at some of our favorite bargain stops I have gathered together the best deals and early shopping tips I could find for the 2006 Black Friday madness which is November 24th.
Prime Outlet Mall - Pleasant Prairie
The Prime Outlet Mall announced Friday that they will be open at midnight on November 23rd for an unprecedented twenty one hours of shopping on Black Friday! Prime Outlet Management has even worked out some stay and shop deals with local hotels and motels. The hotels in the Kenosha that are participating: the Radisson, which is adjacent to the mall property, the Best Western Harborside located in downtown Kenosha, and the Holiday Inn located in Pleasant Prairie. The first 500 shoppers will be given goodie bags. Five of the goodie bags will include a certificate for a $500 shopping spree!
Other local mall openings for Black Friday include 8am at Bayshore Town Center, 5am at Brookfield Square and 7am at Southridge. Remember that many of the larger department stores will open at 5am, like Kohl's and Sears.
K-Mart
K-mart is not my favorite place to shop. However I do like that K-mart has some sales on Thanksgiving Day. Last year I found a few toys that my son was wanting at excellent prices. Here is a list of K-mart's black Friday deals. K-Mart opens at 6am with special buys from 6am-11am. The Thanksgiving Day sales have not been leaked yet. However I do believe that last year they opened at 8am. Here are the best buys that I found to view a complete listing of K-marts BF sales go here http://bfads.net/downloads/BFAds-Kmart-Friday.pdf

Top Ten Tips for Black Friday Shopping:
1) Arrive early
2) Skip the cart, you will be able to manuever through the crowd better.
3) If your shopping with friends or family have a designated meeting spot.
4) Carry your cell phone and or walkie talkies. You'll be able to communicate last minute information.
5) Map out your route before hand. If you are familiar with the store map out a route using the items on your list to maximize your bargain grabs.
6) Be nice but be assertive. Don't stand waiting for someone to hand you the item, you may need to gently squeeze through the loiterers to get your item.
7) Carry only the items you need, leave your purse at home and only carry the credit cards you need. Make sure the cards are in a secured zippered pocket.
8) Clean out your trunk ahead of time. Every year I see people rearranging crap that is already in their trunks trying to fit in the new bargains. Clean out your trunk ahead of time and always use your trunk, many cars are broken into during the holidays because people leave bags in plain site.
9) Save your receipts, you won't have time to worry about correct prices if you have lots of stops. So keep your ads and receipts together that way later in the day you can match up prices from ads to receipts. I carry a small coupon organizer.
10) Pick up essentials. Many stores also have great sales on toilet paper, OTC medicines, and other life essentials be sure to grab these items after securing your bargains from your list.
