Best Friday-After-Thanksgiving Sales in Omaha, Nebraska
Neighborhood: City-Wide
Omaha, NE 68116
Most people remember waking up early and getting bundled up in their warm winter clothing the day after Thanksgiving to find bargains. But with the newspaper thick with sale ads from hundreds of stores, it can be daunting trying to figure out which stores have good bargains, and which are a waste of time. In addition to scanning through the sale ads, make sure you check these ten stores, which have proven that they consistently have the best bargains for the day after Thanksgiving shopping. For stores where there is more than one location within the city, check the sale ad or phone book for the location nearest you. For all stores where there is only one location, the address has been provided. Normal store hours are listed, but check your newspaper sale ads for special holiday hours. These are when the best sales typically occur, and the sales may be limited to certain hours.

Best Buy- Best Buy is famous for their selection of games, movies, electronics, and music. They also offer products such as appliances and office furniture at many locations. Best Buy has some of the best sales around, however their lines leave something to be desired. They make the top of the list because they are one of the stores you should visit first for a chance at avoiding the lines. The store hours vary, so make sure you check the sale ads. There are currently three Best Buy locations in the Omaha metro area, with one near Oakview Mall, one at Crossroads mall, and one in Council Bluffs. Check the phone book for the address closest to you.

Walmart- Walmart is second on the list because they have great sales, they offer a wide variety of items, and their lines are a little better than Best Buy. There are many Walmart locations, and most people already know where the closest location is to them. Walmart is typically open 24 hours a day and closed on Thanksgiving and opens early the day after Thanksgiving. Check the sale ads for their exact holiday hours.

ToysRUs- ToysRUs is a must for anyone shopping for toys. Although their sales are not as spectacular as other places, their lines are typically shorter. ToysRUs is a good stop to save for later in the morning when sales have died down a bit. The locations are 3435 Oakview Dr., 115 N. 76 St., and 3145 Manawa Center Dr. in Council Bluffs. Their normal hours are 9am-7pm, but check the sales ad for their holiday hours.

Village Point Mall- This mall is a great place to do some of your holiday shopping. The bargains are not nearly as good as elsewhere, but the atmosphere makes it one of the prettiest, nicest stops. Their outdoor fireplaces will certainly be blazing, and you can do your shopping, get a snack, and watch a movie while you are there. This location is best saved for mid-afternoon since the sales are not likely to be time sensitive ones. Village Pointe Mall is located at 168th and W. Dodge Rd. and their regular store hours are 10-9 Monday through Saturday, and Noon to 6pm on Sunday. The larger merchants may be open different holiday hours, but the smaller stores are unlikely to be.

Kohl's- Kohl's is a department store that typically offers the best deals on their home furnishings. I have found some fantastic deals at Kohl's the day after Thanksgiving. Kohl's should be visited very early in the morning, and if it isn't the first stop you make, it should be your second or third. There are three locations in Omaha. The addresses are 3351 Oak View Dr, 13550 West Maple Rd, and 909 South 72nd St. Their hours are 8-10 Monday through Saturday, and 10-8 on Sunday. As always, check the sales ad for holiday hours.

Target- Target is another good all-purpose department store. Their sales are not as terrific as Walmart, but their decorations are certainly worth a stop. There is no need to rush to this store, and arriving there anytime before ten am should provide excellent deals and shorter lines. As with Walmart, there are too many locations to name. Check with your closest store as hours vary from store to store.

Younkers- Younkers is a brand owned by Saks. They offer clothing and home furnishings. Younkers is a good stop for finding things that would typically be located at a mall department store. Younkers is good to visit around 10-11 am. There is one located at Westroads Mall and one at Oakview Mall. Check the sales ad for their holiday hours.

Nebraska Furniture Mart- this mega-store offers almost everything from electronics to appliances to flooring. They usually offer some incentives to get the early-bird shoppers, however they usually aren't enticing enough to go there first thing. Visit them after 11am when other places have ended their door-buster sales. The store is located at 700 South 72nd Street, and their regular hours are 10-9pm Monday through Saturday, and 10-6 on Sunday. Their holiday hours do not usualyl vary widely from their normal hours, but you should check to make sure before you leave the house.

CompUSA- CompUSA is great for all your computer and software needs. They tend to have exceptionally good specials on their computers, notebooks, and printers the day after Thanksgiving. They are a little more geared towards work computers rather than gaming models. They are located at 151 North 78th Street, and their normal hours are 9-9 Monday through Saturday, and 11-6 on Sunday. They always open early, so scan the newspaper sales ad the night before.

JCPenney- JCPenney is another good department store. The thing that sets them apart are their "Doorbuster Deals". They have great bargains, and they open the doors early. This store is best done about 9-10 am. Before that and you will miss the good deals at other stores, later than that, and there won't be anything left worth buying at JCPenney. Check for holiday hours, but their store hours are typically 10-9 Monday through Saturday, with their Sunday hours varying by store location. They are located at the Mall of the Bluffs in Council Bluffs, Westroads, and Oakview Mall.
