Best Friend

For all the times I lost

what I could call my own.

When my heart was broken

and all I could do was cry,

you told me it was okay

and gave me reasons why-

Because you are my friend

and can truly understand

the pain inside my heart

when life deals a losing hand.

I thank God for many things,

for all I have and do,

but my best friend means the most,

and that friend is you.
