Best Gifts for Graduates

In a few months high school and college seniors will no longer be students , they will become gradates and with this great title many exciting things will occur. Some will go on a much need vacation, others will attend a party, few will go on with the day as if it was no different than any other. For those who have no clue what kind of gift to give a graduate here are a few tips.

#1 Keep it Simple

Cash money is a great gift and most likely is the gift of choice for most graduates. This way they can use to according to what they are planning on doing. If you are worried that it will not be very personal, give them a nice card and out the cash inside of it. However, like most young people, a card is not necessary. You could get creative and give the graduate a boring titled book and stick some cash in it. That way if they really take time to open it up they will see the true gift, and its funny.

If you want to know how much to give a graduate talk to their parents or just consider their accomplishment. If they graduated high school, then no more than 50 dollars. Graduating high is a great accomplishment but we all know that in order to make it in the real world you will need more education and experience. Besides, anything more than 50 dollars to a teenager is ridiculous. For a college graduate give them at least 150 dollars. College is hard work and requires great dedication. Congratulate them with a sum that shows that.

Also, if you think that you monetary amount is not enough, just consider that others will be giving cash gifts too, so it will add up to a pretty sum.

#2 A Free Trip

This gift is very nice and for a student who has worked extremely hard and done well, a nice trip is greatly needed. The trip does not have to be somewhere exotic, it could be the nearest beach , lake or metro city. Just think about what that graduate likes to do and come up with a trip for them where all costs have been paid. This gift can be from the entire family and will be greatly appreciates. It also shows the graduate that you really understand who they are as a person and nothing is better than having your family "get you."

#3 Throw a Party and Leave When it Begins

Throwing your graduate a party will be another perfect choice for the social butterfly. Especially if you plan it right. Even if you have to let the graduate in on the plans, this can be a wonderful gift. Just make sure you have all the right foods, beverages, music and people there and you are good to go. The most important part of this gift is to take a hike once the party gets started. Nothing is lamer than having to tame yourself around your parents when you and your friends want to hang out. Your graduate will thank you later for this. Also, be kind and hire a cleaning service to come by the next day because thing will get wrecked.

#4 Mean What You Say and Be There

This is for all those parents who for some reason just can't get it together enough to show their children some love. For once in your life tell them that you are proud and be sincere about it. Also, show up for their graduation ceremony and be on time. Don't be a jerk. It is their day not yours. For all the decent parents out there, go ahead and tell your graduate how proud of them you are and give them a hug. Although you do this all the time, trust me there is nothing better than having a supportive, caring parent. You guys are hard to come by now a days.

Take these ideas with you as you go down the numerous shopping isles of graduate what nots and gadgets. Instead of walking around with no clue what to get your graduate, take my advice and use one of these tips. They'll appreciate it. Finally, any gift you give them will be great, because they are just happy it is all over, well at least for a little while.
