Best Hair Color for Any Age: Color Guide for Pravana

Nickole Hogan
After doing hair for many years in the salon, I found out that hair color can do one thing for everyone and that it makes them look younger! On the opposite end of things, the wrong hair color can make someone look older than they are. One of the most common problems I see with color is someone who uses box color and tries to do their hair at home.

One of my favorite hair color lines for all ages is Pravana Naturceuticals. The specific name for their line is called Chromasilk. It is an amazing color line that offers over 99 color options and more colors if your stylist does custom color mixing. They also have fantastic grey coverage. Their color line is only available to the professional. You can go to www.pravana.com to find a certified Pravana stylist in your area. Additionally Pravana has great lasting stamina, makes your hair feel healthy, and doesn't fade quickly like some other lines.

From my experience, there are certain colors within the Pravana line that look great on all ages. They are vibrant, beautiful and shiny. Follow my Pravana guide to help you and your stylist pick a hair color that will look great on you. I suggest taking this guide with you to your appointment. (Note: Go to your hairstylist and look at hair color swatches. The names of the colors are not descriptive to the color.)

Blondes.

9: (N) Very Light Blonde. This color is a cool blonde tone that is a great shade for every age. Not too light of a blonde and not too dark.

9.03: (GG) Very Light Intense Golden Blonde. This blonde is a beautiful warm, golden blonde. This can add warmth to pale complexions.

Medium Browns.

6.23: (BVg) Dark Beige Golden Blonde. When this cool brown is used, it really does take years off! This color is especially flattering to people with olive complexions.

6.46: (Cr) Dark Copper Red Blonde. This warm brown has copper and red tones to it and can bring out the bluest and greenest of eyes.

Dark Browns/ Blacks. (These colors listed below are by far my most popular color and my personal favorites.)

4.20: (4VV) Intense Violet Brown. This cool base color looks fantastic on all skin tones. It has enough violet in it without being to dramatic.

4.52: (4Mv) Mahogany Violet Brown. This is the perfect mix of red, violet and brown.

1.0: (1N) Black. This is the darkest shade with Pravana. The most beautiful, natural-looking black in the market.

Very well written. I'd love to try the one with violet in it.
