K. Bellamy
Planning a playlist of Halloween songs is more fun if you can vary the selections. A witch song here, a ghoul song there. Don't forget the devilish songs that have been written over the years. There are some fun songs that feature devils or devilish behavior. Or pick some darker devil songs. It's your Halloween party, you can devil it up as much as you want!

All of these songs can be downloaded from iTunes for your Halloween listening pleasure.

Best Halloween Songs with a Devil Theme

Devil with a Blue Dress On - Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels
I thought about saving this song for the middle of my list or even for last, but I can't. It's definitely my favorite. A great song for any time of the year, this is a peppy dance tune to get your party started.

Shout at the Devil - Motley Crue
A Motley Crue hit and perfect if your Halloween party crowd enjoys heavy metal music.

Devil Inside - INXS
A New Wave band, the "Devil Inside" was a hit for INXS around 1987. This is another good Halloween song for dancing.

Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones
A classic from the Rolling Stones that pops up on many favorite Halloween song lists.

Devil Town - Tony Lucca (from Friday Night Lights) or Bright Eyes
The Bright Eyes version is the most popular on iTunes but I prefer the Tony Lucca version which was evidently used on the Friday Night Lights television program. I'm a fan of the show and I want to go back and see which episode used this song.

Devil Town makes a good slow song for your Halloween playlist if you like the Tony Lucca version.

Lil' Devil - The Cult
The Cult was an English rock band from the 80's and early 90's. This Halloween song is another good dance tune. I like the "Come on lil' devil, be my angel."

Runnin' with the Devil - Van Halen
A popular song from Van Halen that makes a great Halloween devil song. A little spooky to hear the words "Runnin' with the Devil" on Halloween night.

Take the Devil - The Eagles
I'm a big Eagles fan so I couldn't leave this perfect Halloween song off the list. It's a slow song - if you need one to fit between fast dance tunes.

Bat Out of Hell - Meat Loaf
Had to throw out a selection for all the Meat Loaf fans. Okay, it's about a bat, not the devil. But the bat's out of hell so it still counts. And this song is definitely a Halloween song. The music definitely has a spooky and scary tone.

Devil's Den - Clarence Brewer
This is a blues song by Clarence Brewer off the King Clarentz album. I hadn't heard of him until I bumped in to his one album on iTunes while researching this article. It is a perfect Halloween song. If you like it, look for more of Clarence Brewer's work on my list of Halloween Songs with a Blues Theme. Evidently, Clarence Brewer recorded only one album. What a shame. If you like the blues - and even if you don't - I think you'll like Clarence Brewer's work for your Halloween song list.

Devil Went Down to Georgia - Charlie Daniels Band
I think I had to include this song because it's popular and I live in Georgia and it definitely fits the Halloween songs with a Devil theme. Unfortunately, it got played to death years ago. But you can resurrect it for your Halloween song list if you'd like. There, enough devilish puns, I'm done.

Unforgivable not to include Cliff Richard's "Devil Woman" from 1975. Black cats, evil eyes, gypsy fortune telling Devil Women. What the devil does it take to make it on the list?

Up Jumped the Devil - Nick Cave
Red Right Hand - Also Nick Cave.
