Best Happy Hours in Brooklyn Heights

David Christopher
If you're looking for an after work happy hour in Brooklyn Heights, particularly a moderately priced one, then I'd suggest you'd drop in to one of my favorite happy hour spots in Brooklyn Heights. There are definitely some of the best after work happy hours in the area.

Waterfront Ale House on 155 Atlantic Avenue between Henry Street and Clinton Street. The food is all around excellent, but the food isn't that inexpensive. I strongly recommend the Buffalo Style Calamari, the Ale Battered Shrimp, or, with a shot or two of whiskey, the Half Rack of Barbecue Spare Ribs as appetizers. The Crispy Catfish Po'boy is delicious too. The vibe is pretty warm and comfortable. Happy hour is from 4 to 7 Monday through Friday.

Henry Street Ale House on 62 Henry Street between Cranberry Street and Orange Street. As far as beers, as the name suggests, all they serve is ale, but ask the bartender to translate any beer you'd like and he'll give you a great and similar tasting ale. I highly recommend the Southern Style Catfish with Sweet Potato Fries, the Chicken Quesadillas or the Calamari. The macaroni and cheese is also pretty tasty. There's also a movie theater a few buildings down, which shows indie flicks. The happy hour on Monday through Thursday is from 4 to 7 pm and includes $1.25 off drafts and $0.50 buffalo wings. Friday night's happy hour is the same minus the buffalo wings.

O'Keefe's Bar and Grill on 64 Court Street between Joralemon Street and Livingston Street. The place can get crowded kind of early when the weather gets warm, but the food is great. There are also about a dozen screens, which are great for sports fans. I'd recommend the Corned Beef Sandwich with a double shot of Jameson, the Penne Alfredo with Chicken and Shrimp, the Calamari or the Barbecue Wings. The place is pretty inexpensive too, cheaper than Henry Street and the Waterfront Ale House, and the buybacks are pretty frequent. Regal Court Street cinema is a couple of blocks over too, with twelve screens and stadium seating. Happy hour is from Monday to Friday, 4 to 7 pm.
