Visit Kemah Boardwalk during the month of October to ride the rides, enjoy the dining, and find out if it really is a "frightening" place to be! Boo on the Boardwalk turns into a Halloween festival complete with the haunted house, "The Dungeon of Doom," pumpkin decorating, costume contests and the Great Pumpkin Weight Guessing Contest.

ScreamWorld

ScreamWorld has been one of the most popular haunted houses in Houston for many years. It has been selected by America's Best Haunts as one of the best haunted attractions in the United States. Each haunted house attraction sounds scary! Which one sounds like your favorite, Haunted Hotel, Edge of Darkness, Tobias Strange Family Cemetery and Maze of Maniacs? With one building as home to 5 haunted attractions, you move from one haunted house to the other. One price provides admission to all the exhibits.

ScreamWorld is open weekends and the final week in October to provide the scariest experience in Halloween Haunted Houses. Cost of admission ranges from $20 to 29.00 for individual passes or $17-$21.00 for group tickets. Children under 12 are not admitted. Phobia

Some like it dark and scary ... and Phobia provides just that. It offers eight haunted house attractions at one location. Phobia is sure to have something for everyone. The Darke Institute, Mind Control (Asylum), 3D Clown Phobia, Simon Fowler Woods, Claustrophobia and Dawn of the Machines can be purchased individually or as package, while Simon Fowler Woods, Darkeworld and Mania are a combined attraction separate from the others. There isn't much time to explore your dark side, Phobia is only open Sept. 25-Oct. 31 2010. Website warns this exhibit is not for children.

Location: 18777 Highway 290 at the WEST Road exit. Ticket purchases can be made online and multi haunted house discounts are available. Coupons are available on the website.

Nightmare on the Bayou

There is nothing fake about the only haunted house in Houston that has real ghosts! Located next to Houston's oldest graveyard employees report their own hauntings. Voted "Houston's best haunted show and entertainment value and featured on the Travel channel this haunted house is located at 1515 Studemont Street in Houston. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online. Groups of 25 or more get a discount. Coupons are available at many area Kroger's.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 24 2010 but this attraction does come with a caution to pregnant women, people with heart conditions and people with asthma are strongly discouraged due to "high intensity scares."

The Haunted Trails

Houston's Haunted Trails are located at 11500 Antoine Drive in Houston, Texas and has been a popular haunted house attraction in Houston for 10 years. Opening Oct. 1 2010 this outdoor attraction will give you and your friends quite a fright night. However, be sure to call the haunted house's 24-hour hotline to see if there are any closures. Ticket prices range from $15-$35.00 and coupons are available on the website. Be sure to print the official coupon and present it when purchasing your ticket for a dollar off of admission.
