Ghost stories and tales of haunted places are always popular reading material. One could spend months reading the wealth of material on the subject. There are some good articles about haunted places right here on AC. Here are my favorites.

Content Producer April's Haunted in California gives information on many haunted places throughout California. A little backstory regarding various locations is also included. It's fun to read about what may have caused a haunting.

Jill O'Malley has an informative article entitled Haunted eBay. The article discusses the popularity of haunted items on eBay. Whether the items are truly haunted is debatable, but it is interesting to see what people will buy. A recent search on eBay for the term "haunted" yielded almost 2,000 results!

Lori Powers entertains her readers with Haunted Colleges of the Midwest. Details are given about several Midwest colleges and their hauntings. Places such as Beecher Hall, at Illinois College, are discussed. This building had an interesting past - it used to house cadavers (for the medical students to study).

Michelle Williams' The Most Haunted House in Chicago is a great read. The article informs us of Hull House, constructed in 1856. In 1889 Jane Addams acquired the house and discovered it was haunted by Mrs. Hull (wife of the builder of the house).

Brandy Madison has a great article about the Landmark 78 hotel in California. The home was built by Carlo Hahn in 1912 and converted into a restaurant in 1971. The restaurant may be haunted by Rosa, a young woman who lived in or near the building many years ago.

Donna T tells us all about Sibley Hall, located at Lindenwood University in St. Charles. Mary Sibley, who once lived there, promised she would look over her girls before hanging herself. Mysterious sightings - orbs, mattresses floating, etc. - suggest Mary kept her promise.

Charlotte Kuchinsky has a great series about haunted lighthouses. It is hard to pick a favorite, but try this one: Haunted Lighthouses of the West Coast. You'll enjoy reading about the Heceta Head Lighthouse is haunted by a ghost many have started calling Rue. Most of the time she is benign, but she may not be pleased that her lighthouse has been turned into a bed and breakfast.

Ayami Chin's Terrifying Haunted Locations in North America is a good read too. This article tells about some pretty creepy hauntings, including the Borden house and the Bell house in Tennessee.
