People get sick each and every day and look for the best care they can receive. Greensboro, NC is home to several hospitals and urgent care facilities. As in most cases, there are some hospitals that are better than others. There are also hospitals in Greensboro, NC that cater more to the needs of one particular illness or condition. When an emergency arises, you should know where to go--quickly!

For women's needs, The Women's Hospital of Greensboro is available. Not only do women come here to deliver their babies, the hospital also offers mammorgrams, ultrasounds, uterine surgeries and other types of care for women of all ages. The hospital is conveniently located on Green Valley, right off of Friendly Road or Battleground Avenue. The hospital has knowledgeable and caring staff doctors, excellent nurses, anesthesiologists, a great housekeeping team, a fantastic dietary group and many other healthcare professionals that are available to serve the patient's needs. There is a gift shop, cafeteria, library and lactation team. Pregnant women who are admitted to the Women's Hospital are able to participate in weekly gatherings to meet other expectant moms and enjoy some social time. The Women's Hosptial does have a central nursery and a Level III NICU unit that is capable of handling all emergency needs of the newborn, except for heart surgery.

For a true emergency, the best hospital in the Greensboro area is Wesley Long Memorial. Wesley Long has been a part of the community for a long time and has recently been bought out by the Moses Cone Health System. The hospital is capable of handling a variety of emergencies, both life threatening and non. Wesley Long prides itself in caring doctors and nurses, knowledgeable surgeons, anesthesiologists and radiologists and friendly administrative staff. The hospital offers free parking, an onsite cafeteria, chaplain services, gift shop and vending services. Not only is Wesley Long Memorial faster than Moses Cone, the staff are friendlier and the hospital is in more of a central location.

    Women's Hospital is horrible....I thought that people become nurses because they actually care about patients...boy, was I proven wrong with the attitude of the nurses there. They seemed more into gossipping around the main nurses station than actually nursing. Next baby I will NOT be going to Womens Hospital no matter how far I have to drive.
