Best Jewelry Boxes for Traveling

Keep Your Valuables Safe in These Travel Styles

While traveling on family vacations or business trips you may want to bring some of your favorite jewelry items along. Unfortunately, jewelry that isn't packed carefully can lead to lost pieces. You can place it in a bag or wrap it with tissue, but that's an easy way to accidentally throw your jewelry away. Jewelry placed with other items in your suitcase will cause mishaps like lost stones or tangled chains. If you're not sure how to carry jewelry while traveling, perhaps it's time to invest in a small travel jewelry box. Travel jewelry boxes are compact and light and protect valuables while you're away from home.

Jewelry Rolls

Rolls come in a variety of colors and materials that can pass as a wallet if not carefully inspected. Just as it sounds, this jewelry holder will unroll to show several compartments and zippered pockets. Flat bracelets, rings and pendants are easily carried in jewelry rolls and are safe once the closures are properly in place.

Travel Cases

A travel case is bigger than other travel jewelry boxes but several styles offer handles along the sides or on the top of the case for easier transportation. It's still small enough to fit into a suitcase but possibly too big for a carry-on bag, if that's the only bag you're traveling with. Since travel cases are larger than other styles some offer watch and bangle compartments, as well.

Flat Jewelry Boxes

Manufacturers produce styles similar in size to regular jewelry boxes but the side view allows you to see it's only a few inches high. A flat box will store easily in your suitcase or an over-sized purse. Flat jewelry boxes have an assortment of compartments such as ring slots or rolls and small compartments or pockets. Others will have mirrors and specific compartments for rings and earrings only so take note before you make a purchase.

Jewelry Bags

The jewelry bag will surprise you because it looks like a hard jewelry case but is actually a bag. It has small compartments for jewelry and can accommodate several rings, earrings and even link bracelets.

Decorative Trinket Boxes

Although trinket boxes do not seem like the best choice for a travel jewelry box it will serve the purpose as one if needed. The biggest problem is the lid does not always stay in place and is breakable depending on the material. Pack this trinket box between clothing to minimize damage or breaking.
