Best Large Dog Kennels

When we got our Lab puppy he came with a kennel. I have never had a kennel for a dog before and didn't think I would ever use it. It turns out, that our little guy loves his kennel. It is his hiding place when he wants to get away from it all. It is also his bedroom when we are away. The door stays open most of the time so that he can come and go as he pleases. He is growing up now, and the kennel that came with him is getting too small, so I have been looking for a new, larger one. I will share with you what I have found.

Offers a "Petmate Vari Kennel"

which is a large kennel for dogs weighing up to 90 pounds. It measures 40" x 27" x 30". It is an indoor, portable kennel and is great for auto and airplane transportation and for crate training your big fella. It has a Chrome door with squeeze-latch opening and is very well ventilated. The carrier meets both IATA & USDA standards. It has interlocks on top so that smaller sizes can be stacked on top and tie down strap holes on all four corners.

The kennel is very attractive, two-tone colors. This is the kennel I currently have, but the one I have is a smaller one. The lock system is very secure, and we have traveled with this one with no problem at all.

Carries a nice looking kennel for those of you that only need a kennel occasionally for travel. It is the "Star Plastic Folding Airline Approved Pet Carrier".

This is a large collapsible plastic carrier. Perfect for traveling or at home. Radio Fence describes the Star Crate as is fully collapsible and claims that it folds in less than 20 seconds! It looks just like a suitcase when it is folded down. This one also has great ventilation and is made of a hi-density structural plastic. It also has an easy to open latch with an oversized entrance door. The Star Crates are stackable for storage and multiple crating. You get food/water bowls, two airline labels, tags and instructions with your order. Dimensions: 23"W x 36"L x 22"H, a little smaller than the first, this one is perfect for pets up to 75 Pounds.

Another great find from RadioFence.com is a real pretty kennel. They call this one "The Essential Pet Crate Wicker Crates for Dogs and Cats" and they stated on their website, that it is so pretty you will not want to hide this one, and they are right! Made of resin, but it looks like rattan. Radio Fence states that this kennel is not intended for use as a training kennel, and they also do not recommend this one for pets with behavioral problems, especially chewing. It is designed to be used indoors and has a removable pan, for easy cleaning. It also has a wire door that opens inward, so it will not swing out in the way. It sounds like it latches to the sidewall inside.
