With Christmas just weeks away, what better gift than a journey back to childhood? Here are some of the best late eighties and early nineties kids television shows available on DVD!

Best Late Eighties and Early Nineties Kids Television Shows on DVD

Saved By The Bell

This American classic kids television show is now available for you to own. It seems that only season one is currently in shops, but that might just be enough to satisfy anyone who was a fan of the kids from Bayside High. Zack, Slater, Kelly, Lisa, Jessie and Screech were once the most famous teens on the planet, getting into all kinds of trouble and still managing to give viewers good moral lessons. Saved By The Bell is fun to watch when you want to remember what it was like to be a teenager, but in a very light hearted funny way.

T-Bag

T-Bag is not even released yet, but is due to be available on DVD this month. In the UK, T-Bag was a huge hit in the late eighties and early nineties. T-Bag - Tallulah - then later Tabatha, gained magic powers from drinking special tea, brewed by their assistant, T-Shirt. T-Shirt was a young boy who was the sidekick/servant of T-Bag. The show consisted of T-Bag and T-Shirt travelling to different times and places to locating missing items, and these visits to different places gave slight educational value to the show.

Press Gang

When Press Gang first aired in 1989, nobody could have known that it would introduce some of the UK's best known actors and actresses, including Dexter Fletcher, Julia Sawalha and Lucy Benjamin. The show was about a bunch of school kids who worked on a junior newspaper together. Press Gang was a very funny kids television show but also addressed serious issues including drug abuse and the complications of teen romance.

Grange Hill

Grange Hill was another high school television show, set in London. Grange Hill also boasted some of Britain's best actors and actresses as teenagers, such as Todd Carty, Luisa Bradshaw White, Letitia Dean, Marc Warren and the now world famous Sean Maguire. A bit like Press Gang, it addressed a lot of serious issues, including the famous Just Say No anti drugs campaign. It stayed popular until as late as 2008 when the doors of Grange Hill finally closed.

Round the Twist

This Australian kids television show was a huge hit in the UK in thhe late eighties and early nineties. The full fifty two episodes are now available on DVD for your reminiscing pleasure! Round the Twist was about the Twist family who lived in a haunted lighthouse. The show mainly focused on twins Pete and Linda who embark on many ghostly adventures!

All of these late eighties and early nineties kids DVDs vary in price depending on where you shop. Some of them are quite expensive, but do shop around to find the best price. If you were a child of the late eighties and early nineties, you will have a lot of fun re-visiting your childhood by watching these shows!

I too have only seen Saved by the Bell, but I'm sure the others are awesome too. I also miss the early 90s shows like Full House and Step by Step.

I only know Saved by the Bell, but I do miss a lot of '90's television. Ah, nostalgia.
