Chock full of offbeat, quirky items for your home and garden, Eclectic Living invites lingering and browsing. Are you looking for avant-garde pieces not found in anyone else's home? Perhaps interesting, handmade crafts are your favorites. Or antique pieces with old-fashioned flair may be more your style. All these and much, much more are in Eclectic Living.
Entering this store via the back door, you step into a room overflowing with remarkable wares. Candles illuminated from within rest atop a mantle, beneath a handmade clock covered in multicolored beads, as light-catching wind chimes cascade from the ceiling-in short, nothing here is expected and everything is intriguing.
Traversing the halls of this little shop, you'll find beautifully hand-painted windows for hanging indoors or outdoors, a wall lined with fragrant soy candles for aromatherapy, lovely iron wall décor as well as two separate collections of porcelain fan pulls.
Pewter candlesticks juxtaposed with plaques and platters with sassy sayings take up unconventional residence with religious and cherubic themed wall décor in yet another room. Eclectic, indeed!
Then, as you arrive in the main front room, a kaleidoscope of colors and baubles awaits. Chandeliers dripping with crystals and beads, more wind chimes and candles, funky jewelry, baby items-far more items than your eyes can take in-creatively coexist here.
And, just off this room is an array of gourmet goodies. Ciders, fudge, beverage mixes-a variety of tantalizing treats to top off your visit. Plus, not to neglect the remaining sense yet untouched, melodious instrumental music is available.
Next time you're in downtown Kennesaw, stop by 2886 Cherokee Street (770-427-7557). Owner Tammy Parker will welcome you and cheerfully regale you with details of the latest arrivals. Having so much to see and new items continually arriving, Eclectic Living is a shop to visit again and again.
Another Kennesaw shop will be the next stop on this tour.
