Best Low Carb Mixed Drinks for Low Carb Diets

Lisa Musser
When you're on a low carb diet, finding good things to eat and drink can be a challenge. Especially when it comes to drinks.I was a low carb dieter for a while so I know what you're going through here. You have to be very careful when it comes to mixers. Most straight alcohols like Rum,Gin,Whiskey, Vodka and Tequila have 0 carbs.Where the carbs come in is in the mixers. Fruit juice and soda will make your carb count soar. So when going out, remember that alcohol is no carb, and just add either a diet soda or club soda as a mixer. That means that you can have the old standby Jack and Diet Coke, Captain Morgan and Diet Coke, Bacardi and Diet Coke, Vodka and Club Soda, or any other alcohol mixed with Club Soda or Diet Tonic Water. These are the basic of any well-stocked bar.

The list above pretty much constitutes no carb mixed drinks because there are no carbs in the alcohol or in the diet soda, making them the perfect low carb mixed drinks. If you happen to like wine you're in luck because it is also a low carb alcohol. Just make sure it is a fairly dry Red or White Wine because the sweeter ones contain more sugar. So if you're a sipper 1 or 2 glasses won't hurt your diet.

Of course you have a little more choice if you're having a party or get together with friends, then you can also use Sugar Free Sodas (any flavor), Low Carb sugar-free drinks like some of the Fuze Flavors, Sugar Free Kool-Aid, and flavored Sugar Free Ice Teas. You can mix Tequila with Diet Orange soda for a Low Carb Margarita, or substitute Lemon Lime Sugar Free Kool-Aid with a few drops of orange flavoring mixed in.

If your planning a party and want to serve low carb drinks for yourself or friends, here are a few of the best low carb mixed drinks. These are low to no carb drinks.
