Black Radiance
If you're the type of person who doesn't like to drop twenty or more dollars every time they shop for makeup, you should really get hip to Black Radiance. It can be found in most Rite Aids and sometimes in Pathmark. If you try those stores and still have trouble finding it, do a Google search for Black Radiance, and you'll probably be able to order it online.
Black Radiance makes blushes, lip glosses, lipsticks, foundations, pressed powders, eye shadows and bronzers in fabulous colors. The makeup is very affordable. You can purchase a blush compact for about $4.19. And foundation costs around the same price.
They have blush colors like "plum sorbet" and "ruby treasure" that are sure to show up on dark skin. Black Radiance makes foundations in colors like chestnut and "rich mahogany" And their bronzer is the best I've used.
Cover Girl Crème Mousse
If you're an African American woman who sometimes has difficulty finding the perfect shade of foundation, try Cover Girl Crème Mouse in caramel, cocoa or tan. I have a more detailed review of the product in this article. Click here to read it: Review of Cover Girl Crème Mousse. In short this makeup is a combination of a powder and a liquid. And the texture of the makeup is really fluffy and airy. I always get compliments when I wear this foundation. It glides on smooth and just looks great. The cost is about $8.00.
M.A.C.
If you don't know about M.A.C. you better get onboard the train. This makeup brand is notorious for being sported by celebrities. They have all kinds of beautiful shades for black women. Price range is from $12-$20.00
Fashion Fair
This is my favorite brand for lipsticks. Fashion Fair lipsticks have a unique fragrance to them. It's really great. No other makeup brand has it. Plus Fashion Fair lipsticks are really bright, pretty and moisturizing.
Well that's all I have for now. If you're an African American, there's no need to fear, great Makeup brands are out there.

Post a CommentThe problem is that I've tried all of those brands and I just can't see myself putting the ingredients inside of those drugstore brands on my skin. I have severely sensitive yet acne prone skin and the mineral oil, mica, bismuth, and parabens that are in a lot of the product lines like Posner and Black radiance and even Iman aren't really good for black women and just lead to skin issues in the future. I use, and love, the Mineral Indulgence line which is a mineral makeup line for black women and has awesome coverage with good quality ingredients. Plus they have a lot of darker shades and foundations with YELLOW undertones so we dont have to worry about an ill fitting shade or shade oxidation later on in the day! Black women do have more makeup line choices than they did before, but a lot of the better ones just ARENT in drugstores.
Hi chicas i been looking for tips long time is really hard for me,to find the right foundation i will try those make up.besitos.chao.
What no mention of Black Opal, Posner, Milani, Nars, Prescriptive, Zuri? There is plenty brands, from drugstore to department stores that are available for women of color. We just have to look and test them. Oh I forgot there is Iman's makeup line that hardly gets any shine. What I love about her line is that I never break out from this line. The foundation doesn't make me look chalky or cakey.
Prescriptives is my FAVORITE! unfortunatly they are going out of business and i have to stock up!
thanks for the tips.I will look into Black Radiance.
I also would like to mention that I found that Bobbi Brown, NARS, and Prescriptives all have a great selection of foundation, shadow, and blush colors that blend well with the variations of skin tones of women of color. For lip gloss, I adore Chanel.
Thanks for sharing!
