Play Miniature Golf and Games at Malibu Castle

For amateurs, miniature golf is a great way to get a hand at the game. The rules of miniature golf are almost same as regular traditional golf. Yet, the mini golf proves to be more fun for the whole family and people of all age groups. Even the serious golf players would be excited to play miniature golf with their family and hit the golf ball through interesting obstacles.

It is also a nice exercise during a sunny day. Even though the miniature golf course is about one-tenth of the conventional golf greens course, you would have burnt a considerable amount of calories walking through the 18 holes, waiting for your turn and aiming the right shot. Some places also offer food and arcade games along with miniature golf. This could be a cool place to take your kids for a full day of fun and activities.

In California's bay area, one among the popular miniature golf courses is Malibu Castle Golf and Games. Located in Redwood City, it is accessible via 101 north and south. From our home at Palo Alto, it just takes 15-18 minutes to reach the location and play till we are exhausted. Malibu Castle Golf and Games also offers grand prix, turbo carts, batting cages, bumper boats and arcade games apart from miniature golf.

What attract the crowds are their interesting promotions. If your kid gets good grades in school, he or she can play some free games at the place. The water features, mildly tough obstacles can get anyone interested to play a game of golf here. The games are also reasonably priced with $3.50 for early bird and first hour of the day. Apart from that, regular mini golf would cost $7.99 for adults, $6.99 for kids, seniors and military.

The turbo go karts, bumper boats are fun to try if you come in a group of 4 or more. It would be fun to compete among your group and bump into one another in the water bumper boats. The bumper boats also allow you to splash water as you maneuver the boat. Wearing an extra layer of clothes should help you to dry faster if you get a little wet.

Are you interested in baseball? Would you like to try a hand at the batting cages? Malibu Castle offers you the facility to do so. They have a nice and huge batting baseball cage which is fully netted and they provide you with the equipment. You can practice your baseball strokes as the automatic ball dispenser sends out the balls at a medium-fast pace. You can pay $2 for 15 pitches or rent the cage at $25 for half an hour and $40 for one hour.

Their combo meal and games include a round of miniature golf, 10 arcade game tokens and one go-kart ride. This could be bought for $15.99 per head. Other than this, they have special offers and promotions going on every day. You can play few games for free on your birthday; moms get special offers during the spring special; all video games could be played at $10 for unlimited time. There is so much more each day.

We went there recently, this weekend and played free miniature golf since it was their 30th anniversary and every one could play miniature golf for free. We saw it online in the morning and were doubtful if we could be lucky for a free game. Usually, there is too much crowd or the offer is limited for half a day or so on. However, as we reached, the lady at the counter gave us the equipment and said, "It's on us, do have fun." We surely did! There was plenty of place and we could casually walk through each hole and obstacle on the sunny summer evening.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Redwood City Malibu Castle Golf and Games is located near the freeway. There is a yacht club nearby and lot of open space. Hence, it gets windy and cooler even during a sunny day. It would be advisable to dress in layers so you can get them off as you get warm. Snacks, pizza, water and other refreshments are offered in case you feel pangs of hunger after the games. There is plenty of fun and activity for people of any age. If you are in the bay area and looking for an interesting activity for the whole day, drop into the Malibu Castle and enjoy with your loved ones.

With the exception of Ocean City, Maryland, I haven't found any good miniature gold along the East Coast south of New Jersey. Virginia hasn't got a clue what good miniature golf is. Oh, I'd like to tell you of the courses I've seen here, but it would not be very nice of me. Suffice it to say, they SMELLETH.
