Best Modern Software

Technology has advanced more and more over the past few decades. With all these new advances dozens of careers, occupations, and hobbies have emerged. Here's a look at some of the best new modern software. In some cases, I've given two examples of a category of software as opposed to one specific item.

1) Avid/ Final Cut Pro -- For those of you who don't know, Avid and Final Cut are video editing systems. The new editing systems have revolutionized the way videos and movies are made. Now, anyone can tote a their editing around with them on their laptop. Editing isn't limited to Hollywood anymore. It's also become a lot more streamlined and much more user friendly. This revolution has been partly fueled by the increasing difficulty of getting into the movie business in Hollywood. Indie filmmakers simply can't afford to live in an overpriced LA while getting turned down by every major studio. The demand for easier and cheaper access to editing software created a supply. If you'd like to make a quaity movie, which you can now, all you have to do is buy one of these software packages.

2) Photoshop -- You can edit photos now as well as video. Photo editing has always been around, mostly used by tabloid editors to create the next juicy gossip story. Of course, old edited photos were pretty obvious and pretty easy to catch and discredit. With the new software editing can be very subtle yet very effective. You can edit everything from eye color to the entire background of the picture. Let's not forget about the marvel that is airbrushing. It's not just for models and Playmates anymore.

3) Dreamweaver -- Almost everyone has their own website now, or at least a version of their own website through myspace, facebook, xanga, live journal, or blogger. Dreamweaver is a software that allows you to professionally design your own website. No more crappy Yahoo Geocities for you! Once again, what was once limited to a small group of highly educated web masters can now be done by anyone with the proper idea, motivation, and patience to get it done. Perhaps the best thing about Dreamweaver is that it provides home businesses a low cost way to make their businesses appear as professional as they can be and also attract more customers.

4) Quicken/ Microsoft Money -- Remember the good ol' days when balancing your checkbook took hours? Not anymore. Now all your accounts can be stored in one handy file. You can provide access these software programs access to all your online banking and consolidate all your accounts into one easy access location. Budgeting also becomes a lot easier. Simply enter your expenses, income, and how you want to your income divided and you get easy to read graphs, pie charts, and a budget. This software actually manages to make budgeting fun. You can see where you are falling short financially and find ways to fix it.

5) Turbo Tax/ Tax Cut -- Once again, this new software has made what used to be arduous and time-consuming a lot faster and more efficient. Instead of spending days and days figuring out what you owe the IRS, these handy programs do it for you. All you have to do is input some basic information. Many times they'll also find some tax deductions you didn't know you qualified for. The great thing about this software is you don't have to shell out half a pay check to a CPA to do your taxes for you and it's fast so you don't have to spend a lot of time doing it yourself.
